What Guests Are Saying

“The Wilburton is a unique pleasure. Situated on a beautiful hilltop offering stunning views and dotted with magnificent sculptures. A main house that transports you to the Gilded Age, along with a number of beautifully decorated cottages, presents you with a variety of accommodations. Our room was immaculate, with a comfortable bed and plenty of space for our clothing. We had a lovely terrace to sit out in and contemplate the scenery. Our room was called “The Garden of Eden” room and had a number of whimsical prints and a rug in keeping with that theme. Check in and check out could not have been easier. Excellent Wi-Fi, a bedside electrical outlet that included USB outlets, allowing multiple-device charging. The Wilburton provides plenty of information regarding the surrounding area, which is helpful to those unfamiliar with the area. This part of Vermont is tranquil and serene. The Wilburton complements it perfectly.” — gthnj, 5 stars

“My wife and I and some close friends just returned from a weekend at The Wilburton, and we cannot recommend it highly enough — it was truly an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The setting alone is worth the trip. The hotel sits on a stunning Vermont hillside with sweeping views of the Green Mountains that are breathtaking at any hour, but especially at sunrise and sunset. The historic mansion is full of charm and elegance — you feel genuinely transported to another era, yet with every modern comfort. Every corner of the property, from the guest rooms to the common areas, was impeccably maintained, which made the entire stay feel that much more relaxing. Breakfast was a delight: beautifully prepared eggs, bacon, quiche, truly home-baked breads, and excellent coffee. But what truly elevates The Wilburton is the hospitality. The staff and hosts are genuinely warm, welcoming, and attentive in a way that makes you feel like a guest in a private home rather than a hotel. They take real pride in engaging personally with guests and sharing the fascinating history of the property. We came specifically for the Mystery Weekend, which fell over Mother’s Day, and it far exceeded every expectation. This is not your typical campy dinner theater — it is a cut above in every way. The writing was sharp, witty, and wholly original; honestly, Broadway-caliber. (One of the cast members reportedly starred in Les Miz on Broadway, and the writer — who is also the owner — has had multiple plays produced on New York stages.) The script brilliantly wove historical facts about The Wilburton — including its storied past as a secret corporate retreat for RKO Pictures stars — with delightful, classic Cole Porter songs. It was genuinely funny, inventive, and unlike anything we have experienced. Between the Broadway singalongs and intimate meet-the-cast cocktails, the weekend felt less like a one-off event and more like a full celebration of storytelling and performance. We have done similar experiences elsewhere, and nothing has come close. The Wilburton has created something truly special here. Needless to say, we left already planning our return. Highest possible recommendation.” — Stuart G., 5 stars

“The Wilburton was the perfect venue for our annual family vacation. The private yard was great for evenings around the fire pit. The rooms were beautiful, beds were comfortable and it had everything you could need for cooking in a huge kitchen. Plenty to do in town which is so close by. The kids had a blast in the indoor pool and Melissa the host was so accommodating and friendly! Highly recommend!” — Culture09790790997, 5 stars

"We took the Battenkill house for 4 nights. We had 4 families sharing the space ( 8 adults and 11 kids) and had plenty of room to spare. The location is excellent if you want to enjoy Manchester as well as the local ski options ( Bromley, Stratton) The kitchen was well equipped and the beds and baths were generous size. Highly recommended for large groups!"

"This is our third time staying at the Wilburton Inn. It was as fantastic as ever! Melissa always makes sure that every thing is perfect. The grounds are amazing and the room has anything we could possibly think of. We stayed in the Presidential Suite in the Equinox which we love. We look forward to many future vacations there!"
