What Guests Are Saying

“We absolutely loved every minute of our visit. From the moment we walked in, the front desk staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, setting the perfect tone for our trip. The room was fantastic. The bed was incredibly comfortable, but the unexpected star of the room was the shower—it featured independent pressure and temperature controls, which was an amazing, luxurious touch! The hotel is also truly pet-friendly; having a high-quality Orvis dog bed already waiting in the room for our dog was so appreciated. We dined at the on-site restaurant, The Copper Grouse, and it was exceptional. They were wonderfully accommodating regarding our food allergies, offering many great salad options packed with fresh ingredients, and every single dish was beautifully plated. I loved the thoughtful integration of local Vermont brands for the products used throughout the hotel. The property itself is gorgeous, from the stunning mountain views to the beautiful lobby areas filled with comfortable seating that invite you to just sit and relax. Finally, the location is absolutely ideal. It’s tucked away enough to feel relaxing, but it is not far at all from the downtown area, making it perfectly situated to explore local gems like the excellent Northshire Bookstore. If you are looking for a beautiful, welcoming, and relaxing stay in Manchester, we cannot recommend the Kimpton Taconic enough. It was an amazing experience from start to finish!” — Marcus B., 5 stars

“The Kimpton Taconic continues to be our favorite New England escape from the city. This recent stay was another perfect example of why we keep coming back, and it really starts at the top. Nick, the GM, sets a tone of excellence that you feel across the entire property. We were so grateful for a generous room upgrade to one of the recently renovated cottage suites. The refresh was overseen by Mike, the facilities supervisor, and his hardworking team, and they did a great job. The room was pristine and everything sparkled. We appreciate that Mike always remembers our names and greets us warmly every time we return. The hospitality was seamless from the moment we pulled up. Jaydoura gave us a wonderful welcome and personally made sure all our requests were fulfilled. We also have to give a shout-out to Kristin, our breakfast server, who is always so friendly and attentive. Speaking of breakfast, the Copper Grouse is a can’t-miss. Even if you’re just there for the morning meal, the local, farm-fresh ingredients are incredible. If you’re looking for a great New England inn escape where you’re treated like family, this is it. We can’t wait to return in May!” — CeciliaW, 5 stars

“One of our favorite places to visit. Kimpton Taconic is a great option if you are visiting Manchester, VT. It is warm and inviting with a sophisticated yet casual ambiance. The staff is friendly and the sitting area off the lobby has a beautiful fireplace. The evening social hour is always a hit with many guests and dogs mingling. If you do not like dogs, I would reconsider staying at any Kimpton. The hotels are dog friendly and the Taconic is particularly welcoming, something guests like me count as a positive. Our dog Abby loves visiting! One thing to note, the ice melt they use outside the hotel is not pet safe so paws need protection in the winter. The hotel rooms are small but comfortable and nicely appointed. The attached restaurant, The Copper Grouse is highly recommended too! Shout out to Curtis at the front desk. He is an example of the friendly staff we encounter at the hotel from the front desk to the restaurant employees and housekeeping, everyone is welcoming. The location of the hotel is another plus. Manchester is growing and there are many restaurants and shops to visit. Many restaurants in town are closed on Sunday and Monday so plan accordingly. There is a new brew pub which was fun to visit and there are local stores (looking at you Zippy Chicks) that are not outlets and well worth a visit for unique, affordable treasures. In general, the town has become expensive. I’m sure it draws from wealthy tri-state locales but the quality is high and it is an easy drive from many areas.” — Susan C., 5 stars

"Great stay- the Taconic has a very laid back vibe and is beautiful inside. Location is excellent for access to local shopping and attractions. Our room was spotless and well appointed and the staff bent over backwards to help however they could. Lots of nice touches like a daily happy hour, coffee and tea and hot chocolate always available, and pets stay free. It was a lot of fun for our pooch and all the other pets onsite. A really great hotel. The onsite restaurant, The Copper Grouse, was also very good. Will absolutely stay here again next time we visit the area."

"This hotel always surpasses my expectations! The staff is always welcoming and accommodating right from the moment of check in. Jay, is always exceptional and always attentive at the reception desk. She creates an authentic and welcoming vibe that most hotels only strive for. The room was exceptionally clean and a personalized welcome gift/ salutation always adds a personal touch and boutique feel. The breakfast at the Copper Grouse (in hotel) is always tasty, and has a great selection of local delicacies. Lastly, this is "not" an average hotel, it's more like a second home. I travel for business, all over the world and this is one of my favorite hotels. If visiting the quaint village of Manchester, VT, choose an eclectic, boutique inspired hotel that never fails to impress. Special thanks to every associate in this hotel for always making me feel welcomed and valued."

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My wife and I stayed at the Kimpton Taconic Hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and I honestly wish Google allowed 10 stars for this place! Everything was top-notch — from the elegant atmosphere to the perfect location within walking distance of great restaurants and even a fly-fishing museum. In a time when true customer service feels like a lost art, Jay at the front desk restored my hope. She’s not only kind but genuinely committed to going above and beyond to exceed every expectation. She’s an absolute gem! Jay recommended a few local spots to take my queen, and each one was amazing — especially the Red Gate Trail, which is a must-visit. We left with full hearts and wonderful memories. We’ll definitely be coming back!"
