About The Hotel
The Courtyard Providence Downtown is a reliable, functional Marriott brand choice positioned on Exchange Terrace beside the Riverwalk and WaterPlace Park. This 3-star hotel offers central downtown access with straightforward amenities—a bar and lounge, a fitness center, and a kids-stay-free policy that appeals to families. Recent renovations have refreshed several floors. While not the most upscale option, the Courtyard’s strength is its riverside downtown location and proximity to the mall, convention center, and train station. Guests consistently praise the central location and cleanliness, though some note nighttime noise is unavoidable in the heart of downtown. Rooms with whirlpool tubs are available in select types; confirm when booking.
What Guests Are Saying
“I stayed here for 1 week, the room was great, clean and tidy, enough space for me, I used the gym, has all the basics there for a good workout, i didn’t use the eating facilities so i cant comment on that, they had a vending corner which was good for water, sweets etc, the hotel is very central which is handy, so although it can get noisy at night i knew this before hand and to be honest it wasn’t that bad and if you have had a really busy day each day like i had then you wont have problem getting to sleep, i would definitely stay here again. Really enjoyed it.” — James L., 5 stars
“I want to give this hotel some love because I was honestly hesitant to stay here based on the reviews I had read—and I am super glad I booked here anyway! Yes, the hotel is currently being refurbished. My floor (6) was totally finished and absolutely beautiful. I had a corner room with views of two sides of the city, including the Capitol. There is a little dust but I never noticed noise. I did have an issue at check in with my card not working for parking but someone walked with me to make sure it worked once they reprogrammed it (I think the other person at the desk simply forgot to). The workout area was a good size. It says it opens at 6am, but I was able to use my key to get in at 5:50am (was in town for a conference so had a lot of early mornings). Speaking of conferences, this was a very short walk to the Convention Center. It was just over a block, and there was Cafe Nero for amazing coffee on the way. You could also walk to the Capitol, train station and Providence Place (huge mall). I would totally stay here again, especially nice the are totally finished with the renovations.” — Emily A., 5 stars

What guests are saying about Courtyard Providence Downtown.
"Although the hotel is under going renovations we still had an excellent stay. The rooms were large and rather comfortable. The room we stayed in was really clean. The staff was very helpful with recommendations and by ensuring we were comfortable. The hotel had a very serviceable gym with treadmills, elliptical equipment, a few machines and free weights. The hotel was centrally located in downtown Providence. We were mostly able to walk to most of our chosen destinations."

View on Google"First time in Providence and this hotel is located in a great spot to experience the city. I didn't know it until we arrived and strolled around. It's set back a way from the street but it's across from a park and a short walking distance to downtown and the nearby mall. I also discovered a recently opened food hall next door which exceeded all my expectations. The room was updated and comfortable. As Courtyards are geared toward work travel I found the desk convenient and the desk chair to be very comfy. The large love seat was also comfy. This is in contrast to other hotel chairs that are more info comfortable like the hotel room in currently in. Between the location and the room I wish I spent more time at this hotel. The staff were pleasant and helpful."
