Blue Dory Inn
"4.5-rated 1890s Victorian inn with soaking tubs, cozy gardens, warm service, and prime Old Harbor location."
About The Hotel
The Blue Dory Inn is a 4.5-rated 1890s Victorian gem on Dodge Street, steps from the Old Harbor ferry, celebrating romantic charm and attentive hospitality. Guests consistently praise innkeeper Ann for her warmth and genuine care — she remembers names, offers sightseeing advice, and creates a house-like atmosphere rather than a transactional hotel feel. Rooms are antique-filled and cozy, with a few featuring select soaking tubs. Gardens are carefully tended; a free breakfast and afternoon wine-and-cheese spread anchor the day. The historic building’s age means room layouts vary and some are compact, but that’s part of the charm. Old Harbor location means summer evenings can be lively, and peak-season rates run premium, but the overall vibe is romantic and deeply welcoming.
What Guests Are Saying
“From the first minute to last this was a lovely stay. Greeted by Ann who wants to provide the best for you. Room (which welcomed our big Labrador) was sweetly decorated and comfortable. Evening wine and morning breakfast delightful. Easy and lovely access to beaches, shops and restaurants. Quick walk from Ferry but we had our car and were offered parking in lot behind establishment. Highly recommend for a 1-2 day stay on Block Island. Thank you Blue Dory Inn.” — vlh57, 5 stars
“The proprietor Ann was fantastic as were the helpers. Thank you Ann for your wonderful warm hospitality, Great breakfast and late afternoon wine and cheese/crackers. The inn itself shows signs of wear and tear inside and out. . Our room door didn’t close properly and the shower/tub faucet leaked. Fantastic location. Close to everything. Noisy at night. Good overall experience.” — Richard M., 4 stars
“We loved our stay at the Blue Dory! The staff was wonderful, our room was perfect, breakfast and wine and cheese every day were delightful. We were there to celebrate our 45th anniversary. Perfect location, too. Definitely recommend!” — Christine K., 5 stars

What guests are saying about Blue Dory Inn.
"We came here for my girlfriends birthday and she absolutely loved everything about the place,so did I, and our dog possibly loved it the most. The gentleman running the house was friendly helpful and everything we needed. The food for the wine hour was sneaky good the cook made this really good dip and there was fresh salsa, cheese, fruit and crackers. The breakfast was also good. The location was perfect with the beach right behind the house and a short walk to downtown. Really a great place we highly recommend coming here i know we will be back."

View on Google"We had a wonderful 1 night stay at the Blue Dory Inn in the cheapest room I’m pretty sure (Ocean Sonnet). It was cozy and had plenty of space for 2 people to move around. Bed was comfortable and we fell asleep hearing the waves crash on the shore through the cracked skylight window. Great location right next to the ferry and downtown area. Everything was clean and the staff were a joy to interact with. The fresh made breakfast included in the room price was delicious and the perfect start to our day, and I really appreciated how every time the manager got a compliment about the food from a guest, he said, “Thank you! She does a great job” pointing the praise to the housekeeper/cook. There are many little touches that make this place so enjoyable, like access to free beach towels and chairs, complimentary wine and cheese hour, and letting us leave our bags after check out because our ferry didn’t get in until later that night. Don’t hesitate to book here! Also the resident ginger cat was a very sweet surprise at check in. The friendliest cat ever and laid half his body on my lap and the other half on my husband’s lap as we sat on the couch waiting to check in ☺️"
