Hampton Inn Hadley-Amherst Area
"A convenient Hampton Inn on the Route 9 corridor with an indoor pool and free breakfast, a short drive from UMass and the Five Colleges."
About The Hotel
The Hampton Inn in the Amherst area sits on Hadley’s Route 9 corridor, a short drive from UMass Amherst and within easy reach of the Five Colleges, Northampton, and the Norwottuck Rail Trail. It delivers the dependable Hampton package — an indoor pool, a fitness center, free hot breakfast, and family-friendly rooms — and earns a 4.3 across more than 800 reviews, with guests singling out the helpful, well-staffed front desk. The trade-off is age: reviewers like the location and service but note the building is dated and due for an update, and its mall-corridor setting is more practical than scenic. As a central, well-priced valley base, it is hard to beat.
What Guests Are Saying
“Clean quiet hotel with friendly helpful staff. Typical Hampton Inn breakfast. Lower rating is for price and dated hotel rooms. Priced as a premium Hampton Inn property is desperately in need of a refresh. I stay at this brand regularly and haven’t seen this old tired set up in years.” — W H., 3 stars
“The hotel is a bit isolated in a mall that is mostly without shops. The property itself is well maintained and the staff are friendly. My room met my needs for a one night stay, but left no strong memories.” — too_few_trips_1, 3 stars
“This is a well staffed, well located Hampton Inn but it is sooooooo old and dated. It clearly does well because of its proximity to universities and the cleaning and front desk staff are really good. There’s no reason it should be 20 years old without a renovation. Some new carpets, wallpaper removal and bathroom updates would go a long way and this place would go from good to amazing with a little investment. It’s adequate if you need to be in the area, but it could be so much better with a little TLC. In its current state, just be aware that it is clean but very, very dated and you will still pay $500+/night if there is any kind of event at one of the schools or in the area.” — TwoFriendsTravel, 3 stars

Guest reviews
What guests are saying about Hampton Inn Hadley-Amherst Area.
"There is very limited service as everything is mostly digital. The room was very nice and clean. The only issue is that the carpet always seemed a bit damp and whatever they used to clean them, made my feet itch. Coffee is always available in the lobby and the breakfast was not bad for a free hotel breakfast."
