The Kendall Hotel
"A beloved converted-firehouse boutique in Kendall Square next to MIT, with characterful rooms and a popular restaurant steps from the Red Line."
About The Hotel
The Kendall Hotel in a converted 1894 firehouse in Kendall Square is one of Cambridge’s most beloved boutique hotels, earning a 4.6 across nearly 1,500 reviews — the highest-rated hotel in the city. Its characterful, individually decorated rooms and warm service draw repeat visitors, especially MIT families and tech travelers. The on-site restaurant and bar create a social hub, the complimentary breakfast is highly praised, and the location steps from MIT, Kendall Square, and the Red Line puts the entire city within reach on foot or by subway. The only friction: books up around MIT and Harvard commencement (May and June), when reservations are essential. Walls are thin in some areas, and an in-room soaking tub is not confirmed, so specify that request at booking.

"Great stay. The atmosphere at the Kendall was welcoming and comfortable. Staff was always helpful with good suggestions for filling our day including dinner at Row 34, right next door. Beds and linens were lovely. Full breakfast was everything we needed to start the day and the lobby offered a comfortable option for breakfast, card playing or just sitting around. Highly recommend. Great location too, right next to MIT and subway stations."
