About The Hotel

From $430/night — Portland’s grand historic tower hotel. This is a landmark 4.1 hotel in the 1925 Eastland tower with the Top of the East rooftop bar; central and full-service, if a touch worn for the price. Best for travelers who want a classic full-service downtown hotel, a rooftop-bar view, and walkable access to the Arts District and Congress Street. The building is genuinely striking, with an interesting lobby and good bones; rooms are spacious with excellent bathrooms (walk-in rainfall showers and generous counter space). Free breakfast and a well-reviewed fitness room add value. The rooftop bar is the standout — on clear days you can see Mount Washington.

What Guests Are Saying

“This hotel is in an old building (1925) but tastefully decorated, with an especially interesting design for the lobby. It is in a great location, with easy access to many downtown restaurants and shopping venues. Our front desk clerk was really great, helping arrange things so that we could have same room after our two night personal stay and before a night that came with a departing cruise. Nice room with a spacious bathroom that incuded a vanity with decent counter space and a big walk in shower with rainfall shower head. Nice linens. Everything very clean. Very quiet. Comfortable bed with nice sheets.” — Andy M., 5 stars

“Very comfortable beds, sparkling bathroom, perfect staff at check in, attractive facility, great fitness room! The complimentary breakfast was above and beyond. Entree off the menu was excellent.” — Stephen, 5 stars

“Stayed here for son’s college graduation that was at arena down street. Service was pleasant, and valet service was prompt & friendly. Bonus was rooftop bar/restaurant with great views & cool vibes.” — Sarahviz, 5 stars

"We've stayed at the Westin a number of times and really enjoy the hotel and it's location. Our most recent stay was on the 10th floor with a nice room, view and the most wonderful shower. The holiday lights were still up in the little park next door and were lovely to see from our windows. The front desk were very welcoming and helpful. By choice, we didn't have our room serviced daily, but the housekeeping staff were very accommodating in providing anything we needed. We didn't have time to visit the bar on the 15th floor, but did on our last trip; the view is lovely and the drinks/food very good. We're older and utilize the complimentary (we tip) hotel shuttle quite a bit - it's a wonderful service to transport you around town. Not all was perfect, as two of the four reading lights above the beds were not working and I found a pr. of slippers and an empty water bottle under my bed. Neither was a big deal, but I know that Management likes to be made aware so that issues like that can be addressed."

"This is a great historic hotel. And I enjoy being up on the higher floors, looking out the window. The rooms are rather nice and there is a rooftop bar that I have yet to make it to because i'm always here on work, and i'm always too tired. A nice big open lobby. I saw a coffee shop just off of the lobby. They are ballrooms, and i'm assuming they have events there. Parking is an issue just like most of portland. I mean, they do have a parking garage next door that you can pay for. They're planning on adding another thirty dollars to your stay. But overall, it's a really nice place. And in the off season because i'm traveling on work.I get the thing for seventy five dollars sometimes. That's a win in my opinion. And if you get a really cool room, the view alone is worth it."

"Great experience. Wonderful staff who are overly willing to help. They have a free local shuttle for guests with the airport as priority, but they take people around. Went to a conference here and everything went smooth. The room was super with a great view. I highly recommend this place. It's also in a great location with plenty of food options within a short walk."
