What Guests Are Saying

“We had a great 2 night stay at the Acadia Hotel Downtown. We had the Sargent Mountain suite that had a nice sized living room and 2 bedrooms, each with king sized beds. Suite had nice mountain views, was very clean with comfortable beds. The staff was very helpful and friendly. A nice woman at check in, helped us geting our luggage to the room. They provide a nice breakfast with delicious, made to order omelettes, an assortment of breads, bagels and muffins along with juices, coffee and tea. Location is great, right in the middle of town on a side street close to all of the shops/restaurants. Highly recommend.” — capecodtraveler01, 5 stars

“Stayed this past weekend. This was my second time there, also this time of year last year. Great place. Rooms are clean, beautiful, and mine was BIG! I was there on a Sunday evening, so the bar wasn’t open for business, but the room itself was open and no one bothered me as I cracked my laptop open to do some work. (There are also chairs and tables in the lounge but I find those uncomfortable). Free popcorn! Also 24 hour free coffee and tea. Walking distance to anything in the village. Nice, small breakfast but fresher than what you find at chain places. Staff was very nice, answered all my questions. Last year I was offered a glass of champagne on check-in as a “first timer!” Very cool. They offer a 10% discount off in-season prices to repeat customers. I was there off-season and couldn’t have found a better rate anywhere else so I understand why they only offer the discount in-season. Quirky cute hotel, the elevator is adorable!” — Maura T., 5 stars

“Best hotel in the area! Great rooms, great employees, and right in the middle of town. Hot tub had to be our favorite part!” — David B., 5 stars

"Even though we visited Bar Harbor on a fairly cold few days, we were warmly welcomed at the Acadia Hotel. Great Staff. I really appreciateed all the little touches inside the hotel in terms of service and amenities. Especially the old style coffee urn. Not a lot of people like that style of coffee anymore what with all the choices we have, but that’s exactly why it fits in so well in your hotel and it’s free. I liked it, Coffee 24/7. And I love the popcorn machine. The place is very well appointed and decorated and just a pleasant atmosphere in the lobby, bar area, etc. very decent continental breakfast. Though the rooms are small, bed was very comfortable and well laid out. Great shower Again nicely appointed rooms. I use the exercise room and the sauna, had it been a few degrees warmer outside, I would have definitely used the hot tub. We may even come back next New Year’s Eve and spend our time there."

"This was our third time in Bar Harbor but our very first time staying downtown! The location of the hotel is amazing – it’s central to everything you need to have a fun stay in Bar Harbor! The customer service is wonderful and would always welcome us as we walked through the door, which was a nice personal touch my fiance and I enjoyed. They also gave us one complimentary drink (wine or beer) at the bar that is attached to the hotel. We most certainly took advantage of that! One thing I would like to be a little different was the bed/pillow situation. They were on the hard side, but if you’re not picky, it’s not a big issue! The AC unit was also a tiny learning curve for us, but it would’ve been because we came in December, lol! Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and will be back once we find ourselves back in Maine!"

"Super cute hotel in downtown Bar Harbor, close to shops & restaurants. Came during the off season so the hotel was very quiet. Front desk staff are accommodating & friendly, offering ample refreshments & a free Bar drink voucher with your stay. Also a borrow rack of trekking poles & boot spikes which were a lifesaver. Continental breakfast included which helps prep for an early hike. Only hiccup was due to sub-freezing temps outside, the room was too cold for the heater to keep up. We just bundled up in layers & requested an extra blanket which did the trick. Overall, a quaint lodge for a winter weekend in Acadia!"
