About The Hotel
Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Portage is a 4.2-rated (878 reviews) brand pool hotel at 1630 Olmstead Dr off I-94 Exit 19A — the strongest overall in Portage. Subratings: 4.4 cleanliness, 4.6 location, 4.4 rooms, 4.4 service, 4.3 sleep-quality and 4.3 value. Amenities include free parking, WiFi, fitness room, indoor pool, free breakfast, game room, kids-stay-free and babysitting. TUB NOTE: a 5-star review specifically calls the shared pool AND jacuzzi ‘super nice’ — confirming a working indoor whirlpool in the pool area even though the amenity list only shows Pool. Multiple 5-stars praise clean rooms and helpful staff (Linda singled out); one 2-star flagged bread floating in the pool once and stained bedding needing to be checked before laying down; a 3-star wants the laundry-room washer/dryer updated. A brand pool hotel with a shared jacuzzi rather than in-room whirlpools.
What Guests Are Saying
“From room to lobby (where there was always free, good coffee!), everything was clean, fresh and well maintained. Sandra, who cleaned our room, was so nice. I asked her the next morning for a few more towels and she handed them right over. Sff dud a great job. Pool was nice and we had fun staying here. We were in room. 201, highway was close but traffic was not nearly as noticeable as with other places we’ve stayed. It is to be expected to have some noise but it was to bad at all! Great 2-bed suite with fridge and microwave and even extra storage for snacks and food. 2 cirbswr windows with nice view of landscape outside property. Very nice place for the cost. We will definitely stay here again if we return fur a visit to Indiana Dunes parks. (Eating and shopping also close by). Very happy with this visit to Countryside Suites by Radisson, Portage!” — Ellis A., 5 stars
“Very clean! This is one of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever visited! The atmosphere was so nice, and the front desk receptionist named Linda, was amazing! When we first walked into the lobby, it smelled like fresh baked cookies! 🍪 and sure enough, Linda had just put out a fresh batch of hot, gooey, chocolate chip cookies that melted in my mouth! 😋 The staff was constantly cleaning the floors, the entry doors, mirrors, and anything else they could wipe down, It was pretty impressive. They actually closed the indoor pool for 2 hours to do a thorough cleaning. Speaking of the pool, my grandchildren really enjoyed the kiddie pool with the giant frog slide. 🐸 We stayed there for almost 7 days, and it was a little expensive for our budget, but we’ll definitely stay there again when we’re in that area for a shorter time period.” — Skinny G., 5 stars
“My new ANGEL Linda!! Thanks to her, our trip turned from a disaster to all Good! She helped us out when the place next door had cancelled our stay. I can’t say enough great things about her and this company. Will not hesitate to stay here again.” — Cheryl S., 5 stars

What guests are saying about Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Portage.
"We came to Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Portage after leaving a disappointing hotel, and I’m so glad we did. The moment we arrived, the two ladies at the front desk were incredibly helpful in getting us a great room. The check-in process was smooth, and they made sure we were comfortable from the start. The hotel itself was exceptionally clean and well-kept, which made all the difference after our previous experience. The rooms were spacious, tidy, and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. It’s clear that this hotel is well-maintained and takes pride in providing a good experience for its guests. I would absolutely love to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, reliable place to stay in Portage."

The front desk staff were absolutely amazing. They allowed me to check the room before booking and made sure my families stay was great. The Breakfast was good and checkout was easy. Their pool area is clean and had plenty to do for the kids!"
