“Overall, this was a fine hotel. The room was clean, the pool and hot tub were nice, and breakfast was what you expect from a hotel. The lemon water at the front was very appreciated. On the flip side, the interstate is very loud if you are on the front of the hotel. Our room heater stunk so bad that we had to turn it off and open the window for a while to clear the smell. The carpet in the hallway looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time. There was paint chipping in the room and dark stain (mildew?) on one of the walls. “Visited as a family of 5 sleep comfortably 3 adult 2 teens room had a divider so that was really nice. Hotel could use a good clean. Felt kind of dusty for almost $200 a night even including breakfast if was barely worth $ 150 a night at most. Nicely located although all the hotels in there could do better landscaping with what they charge. Over all I’d rate it a 7.8/10” — Melissa S., 4 stars
“When we arrived the lobby was empty and yet it took more than 15 min. to get checked in even though we had reservations. The bedspread on one of our beds was scattered with black dirt, the carpet had multiple stains and the wall next to the shower was in the middle of a repair. Bed and pillows were comfortable. "It was my birthday Nov 29th my best friend of 40 years booked a room with a hot tub thru a number she called, when we arrived the booking was messed up. Was given a room with no hot tub , the manager I think his name was kamil was very calm and understanding of the situation, we called choice customer service and with no help. He fixed the issue in house and I had a wonderful birthday at the comfort suites Merrillville. Please be advised that booking directly with the hotel is smarter over trying to save a few pennies. Also ask if you are talking directly to your hotel or if this is the phone number to that hotels address."
