The Lily Room has ‘a nice jacuzzi’ per a recent 4-star, though the same guest flagged a painfully noisy hard bed and windows that would not open. A 4-star from a Spanish-speaking guest called the welcome warm and the breakfast delicious. Subratings run 3.8–4.3 across the board. Historic-mansion character over modern comfort — book Lily Room for the jacuzzi.

What Guests Are Saying

“I had seen 1-2 bad reviews of this place before I decided to go ahead and gamble and book a night anyway. It did not disappoint! The place is absolutely gorgeous and charming and old in a good and historic way. Coming from the desert of west Texas, it was very neat and jaw dropping to see in person those old historic brick homes you always hear and read about from the olden days. The place has a lot of character and it very nice and clean and comfortable and the room is extremely nice and well decorated. Laura, the manager, and Brianee, (forgive me for not knowing how to spell her name) are also extremely helpful, and arm, and welcoming. Laura even went out of her way the next morning and made me waffles and later on that evening after I had checked in, Laura had prepared fruit infused water and warm chocolate chip cookies. I absolutely loved my stay and look forward to coming back, hopefully sooner rather than later! I’m not sure what issues the 1-2 bad reviews that I read of, had, but they were really off the mark!” — Fer R., 5 stars

“Our stay at Stone Soup Inn was truly wonderful. Laura, the innkeeper, made us feel so welcomed with her kindness and thoughtful personal touches. The homemade breakfast served in the beautiful dining room was such a special way to start each day, and the homemade cookies in the main house added an extra touch of warmth and hospitality. The rooms were quiet, comfortable, and inviting — the kind of place that feels like a home away from home. We especially loved the charming carriage house, which offered plenty of space, its own laundry room, and a lovely balcony to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The beautiful porches, comfortable seating, and shaded lot created such a relaxing atmosphere. Stone Soup Inn is a true gem, and Laura’s care and attention made our stay memorable. While our location was close to downtown Indianapolis, staying here felt like we were in a quiet little town. We will definitely be back for more visits!” — Riarocabey, 5 stars

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Stone Soup Inn. I came with a friend for the Taylor Swift concert and just by chance I booked a room here. A light must have been guiding me that day, because I have never stayed in a more amazing place, which says a lot as we are both avid travelers. For starters, the inn is stunningly beautiful with historical architectural details, and the inn was clean and comfortable. But let me just tell you about the amazing staff, David & Pam. They were so friendly, helpful, and inviting in every way. They genuinely just seemed happy to be there. Our first night there, we didn’t get to the inn until late, David had everything set up so we could easily access the inn after hours. I could go on and on about the entire experience! This was my first trip to Indianapolis and I absolutely loved it! And I will never stay anywhere but the Stone Soup Inn when I visit!” — Cindy C., 5 stars

"I Love this beautiful historic Inn. We stayed for 2 nights and we were very impressed with the cleanliness of the room and shared bathroom. We had the Victorian room and it was very large with a king size bed. The common areas are decorated very nicely with period antiques. The large front balcony would be a great place to relax. Sunday breakfast was wonderful, with lots of choices and large dinning room table that encourages visiting. The staff is very friendly and there to help with anything needed. I only wish I would have had more time to explore and enjoy such a lovely place."

"Our stay at the Stone Soup Inn in Indianapolis was nothing short of incredible! We were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality by our amazing hosts, Laura and Pam. They went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. The Inn itself is full of charm and character — beautifully maintained, cozy, and peaceful. Breakfast was delicious and clearly made with care — the perfect start to our mornings. Laura and Pam made our experience truly special; their kindness, humor, and warmth made us feel like old friends rather than guests. You can tell they genuinely love what they do, and it shows in every interaction. If you’re visiting Indianapolis and want an experience that’s both relaxing and unforgettable, the Stone Soup Inn is the place to stay. I can’t recommend it enough — and I can’t wait to go back!"
