Historic-boutique romance rather than a modern in-room-jacuzzi suite — book the Library/Wedding Suite for the biggest bathtub.

What Guests Are Saying

“What an oasis of peace and comfort, not to mention a fabulous breakfast buffet! Gary Hofmeister is the consummate host, attending to needs and wants almost before they are expressed! We were treated like royalty and thoroughly enjoyed breakfast over the 4 days with the other guests; very interesting and fun! The rooms are quaintly appointed and comfortable. The DVD and VHS collection is incredible…forgot how many hundreds (thousands??) are in the collection. General decor is certainly worht taking tine to peruse…many unique and beautiful pieces. Snack (homemade cookies!), munchies, and drinks available at all times. A delightful experience for which there was not enough time to totally enjoy due to a very full external schedule. Hope to return when the pace is more leisurely!” — Robin M., 5 stars

“We only stayed one night but would definitely stay again. Gary was very gracious, and he had cookies and a pop/water available for everyone whenever they wished. Breakfast was delicious and had everything anyone could wish for plus mini cheesecakes! Dessert for breakfast? Yes please! So much better than the “hot” breakfast served in hotels! The bed was comfortable, and the house is in a family friendly area very close to downtown. We took a walk around the neighborhood and enjoyed looking at all the old houses. My one warning would be to those with knee issues, because the tub (while large and wonderful) was difficult to climb into- perhaps another room would have had easier access.” — Terry H., 5 stars

“I spent five nights here while attending the National Eucharistic Congress at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium. What a great stay it was! The owner, Gary, was a perfect host. The breakfasts were outstanding, the conversations great, the room very comfortable, and the homebaked cookies better than anything you could get anywhere. The 1885 house is a real charming place to stay and is located in an historic neighborhood among beautiful old homes that are lovingly cared for by the owners. Forget the chain hotels in downtown Indy and stay at the Old Northside Inn when coming to this wonderful city.” — Stephen R., 5 stars

"Gary is a fantastic host. We booked the library/wedding suite for one night and it was incredible. There is a private sitting room and the biggest bathtub I have ever seen. makes a lot of his own treats, keeps a stocked mini fridge with drinks, and makes the breakfast fresh each morning. Gary was friendly and incredibly accommodating. I sometimes feel awkward in B&B’s, but I felt right at home because Gary was such a gracious and thoughtful host. There were even things I forgot (like the wall portion of my outlet and a makeup wipe) that were thoughtfully provided in room. It is a beautiful, romantic, convenient spot in Indy and I’m sure we’ll be back! The location is in the heart of downtown, so being able to park here and Uber cheaply was a HUGE bonus. I planned to stay in a hotel, but we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and everything I saw felt a bit corporate. The small touches here really raise it above the rest!"

"We were going to stay at a downtown hotel, but instead decided to spend a couple of nights at a B&B instead. It was a great decision. This facility is convenient to all areas of town. It's quiet, rooms were clean, and the breakfasts were wonderful. Snacks and beverages available 24-7 in abundance and there's an extraordinary selection of DVDs and VHS tapes (remember those?) and players in each room for viewing. Parking is free and convenient. Decor is Victorian and a if you don't like that style you might feel it's a bit over the top. But if that's a negative, it's the only negative from my perspective."

"This was our first time staying in a bed and breakfast and I have to say it exceeded our expectations. Gary went over and above making sure we had everything we needed. He was such a thoughtful host that spoiled us rotten! We will forever be bed and breakfast lovers because of the excellent care we received during our week at FDIC."
