Recent 4-star returning guests: ‘We are returning guests of 20 years, quite simply this hotel feels like home, instantly relaxing and we know exactly what to expect. We ate at Coast and as always the food was delicious as was the food from the pool tiki [bar].’ A separate 4-star: ‘starting to look tired.’ Multiple candid recent 1-2 star flags: ‘AVOID. This is NOT a luxury resort as they coin themselves to be! I would avoid this resort. We booked through AMEX FHR and quite frankly I’m shocked this hotel is part of the program. It is anything but luxury. 1. The front desk staff and door men are not helpful. Upon check-in after’; ‘I wanted to like Edgewater Beach Hotel, but it was a complete fail for my husband and me. We won’t be going back. It was crowded with large families, which was fine, but consider this when you are booking’; ‘Zero Humanity When We Needed It Most. I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience deserves one. On Friday, July 24, my young son developed a high fever. We politely asked the front desk if we could remain in the room for just one or two extra hours [refused].’ Best for returning long-term guests who value the direct-beachfront location and Coast restaurant, accepting recent property-condition and service-consistency concerns from AMEX FHR bookers.

What Guests Are Saying

“This was the first time my family and I stayed at the Edgewater. We were here to celebrate our daughter’s birthday and it did not disappoint. Our 2 bedroom suite (1 King/2 Queen) was very comfortable. The bathrooms were spotless the plush bathrobes were a nice touch. It had a kitchen, livingroom and dining room. They even provided a mini Bluetooth speaker to use with an option to purchase. This was more than enough room for the five of us for two nights and should be quite comfortable for longer stays. It felt more like a home away from home than a ‘hotel room’. Like at all Opal Collection resorts the service and hospitality was excellent. We will definitely be coming back for a longer stay.” — Juan C., 5 stars

“Great resort! Beautiful ocean front 2 bedroom suite was perfect for our family. Very spacious and clean. Beautiful view from the balcony . The resort had everything we needed for a lovely spring vacation. Its close to restaurants/ shops.. about 10 min drive to 5th ave. They also have a shuttle available to 5th ave. Pool was great, very clean with a nice pool bar. Food was great too!” — mia R., 5 stars

“All the staff were incredibly friendly. The food at the pool bar was delicious, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The in-room ice machine didn’t work, and there were no machines accessible to guests, but the overall service was so good that this was just a minor detail.” — Maria M., 5 stars

"Everything about this hotel was flawless. The rooms were super nice, the beach access was quiet and clean, and all of the amenities were great. The best part of all was the service. Everyone we spoke to throughout the stay to was very nice and outgoing and seemed happy to be there for us. Special shoutout to all the servers and bartenders for going out of their way to check with us often and make sure our little toddler had food and drinks and everything he wanted provided for him to make our stay easier on us. We just stayed for a work Christmas party here but will definitely be back to visit in the future even though we live an hour away. Thank you to all the staff here, we really appreciate you guys"

"We return to the Edgewater Beach Hotel at least once a year. It's a lovely boutique hotel on the ocean with kind/cordial staff, clean/comfortable rooms - some with full kitchens and private verandas. Views of the ocean/sunsets from the beach, pool and restaurant are beautiful. Thanks to Veronica, Chef Wilson (super knowledgeable of food sensitivities), Mark (our fabulous server for years by the pool) and Taylor (temporarily at the front desk) for taking such great care of us - again! We hope to return soon. The picture is the pool at night, taken from the beach."

"This hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was breathtaking, though it came at a premium. I opted for the level below the presidential suite, which offered a kitchen, living room, and a separate bedroom with a balcony twice the size of the others, overlooking the serene water. The food was simply incredible, with each of the three meals being a culinary delight. The fillet was cooked to perfection, and the waffle with eggs for breakfast was a fantastic way to start the day. The beach was pristine and relaxing, with attentive waiters who would promptly attend to any requests. All you had to do was raise the flag, and they’d be right there, ready to bring you anything you desire—be it drinks or food. I would definitely stay here again. It was an exceptional vacation, just a 50-minute drive from my home."
