“The front desk staff were all very pleasant and friendly, along with all the maids we talked to. The rooms could use some freshening up, but it’s a clean and a pleasant place to stay. We ate at Sliders across the street twice which made it very handy and they had live music every day. “We had a room on the second floor. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. My husband and I are on a long trip, so we both have a large suitcase. Like many hotels, there was only space to set one down so it could be easily opened. The bathroom was dated and the toilet extremely low to the floor. The shower/tub combo should be updated to a walk-in shower if a remodel is done in the future, as well as replacing the toilet with a high-top. At least a rubber mat was provided to prevent falls in the slippery tub. It was difficult to regulate the temperature in the room to make it comfortable. The breakfast was very basic - what most hotels serve. Because of the cold, windy weather, we really didn’t have an opportunity to enjoy the activities we had planned to do in the area. Note: The hotel charges a daily parking fee of $15.00 although there seemed to be plenty of parking. Also, very important to note that with a recent change, you will be charged a 3.5% credit card fee if you pay with a credit card. First time we have ever seen this policy. Not sure how many people travel with large amounts of cash to pay their hotel bill in cash!! Seems all of these fees just nickel and dime the hotel guests. We ate a couple of times at the Sliders Seaside Grill across the road and it was very good and the prices very reasonable.” — Rosemary V., 4 stars
