"Looking to spend time in San Diego but none of the downtown hotels appealed. We booked here with the bay ferry in mind which turned out to be an enjoyable and memorable way to get across the bay, the ferry dock located a short walk from the hotel. One ferry drops you at the USS Midway close to Little Italy; the other shorter route goes to Petco Park and the Gaslamp quarter. Coronado itself was a nice surprise, pleasant to walk around. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a spa king room with a big screen TV, whirlpool tub and large and well appointed bathroom. Breakfast was served fresh each morning on the outdoor patio, complimentary coffee from 7am. Check-in was friendly and the secure parking garage is right around the corner. Book directly with 1906 Lodge and do follow their guidance on driving to the hotel; your car/phone app will direct you to cross a very busy one-way which can be easily avoided. This hotel lacks nothing and offers outstanding value and hospitality."

"We had an amazing stay at 1906 Lodge. Downtown Coronado is a short walk away including Del Coronado Hotel. Rooms are comfortable and the breakfast and happy hours were outstanding. We took advantage of the free bikes and used the bike trails which were very close."

"We have stayed here twice and have enjoyed our experience both times. You can’t beat the location.; it is close to almost everything (including the beach) on the island. And if you don’t want to walk just check out one of their bikes as the island has bike lanes. We really liked that they offer beach chairs, towels and umbrellas. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and we loved that they offered happy hour with some small bites. What really made our stay was the staff. They were very friendly and accommodating. One thing though, they have limited garage parking with on street parking challenging. Get there early in order to get either street or garage parking and just leave your car. Walk or bike once you get checked in."
