About The Hotel

Wyndham Virginia Beach Oceanfront is a value oceanfront Wyndham on Atlantic Avenue at 57th Street on the quiet north end of the boardwalk, with an outdoor pool, a bar and pet-friendly rooms. Scores run soft across the board (cleanliness 3.0, rooms 3.1, value 3.1) with reviewer flags about worn furniture, inconsistent housekeeping and blood-on-sheets complaints — a value oceanfront where expectations should be set. Free parking and pet-friendliness are the honest draws, and some guests report positive stays with major room upgrades. Best for value travelers wanting a north-end oceanfront rate rather than the Cavalier or Marriott experience next door.

What Guests Are Saying

“Good treatment, excellent staff, ideal for families, very clean, very quiet 10/10 I have come 2 times and I have had the same experience” — MAGDELEN C., 5 stars

“Clean and friendly staff. Peaceful beach away from all the crowds and dog friendly. We will be back to stay again.” — Elaine S., 5 stars

“So let me tell you my real true thoughts! First and most important to me the staff was so accommodating and very friendly. We were given a major upgrade without extra cost! But everyone was always friendly! This hotel and the rooms are 100% outdated! If you want 5 star as far as accommodations with your rooms you will need to go somewhere else but you won’t find anywhere for the prices they offer. The beach is almost private because on each side of the hotel are nothing but beach homes… this is the only standing hotel in at least a one or two mile radius… so it’s like having the beach to yourself and I was there the week after the 4 th of July! I do like nice upgraded hotels but it didn’t bother me or my family too much that this one was a little more old fashion. The room was clean, the beds were very comfortable… they have a half fridge in each room! For the price, it’s amazing! I would stay here again although we don’t think we will be back to Virginia, we are trying different places every year!! So stay here if you would like a private beach and need to be careful with what you spend for your vacation!!!” — Kim H., 4 stars

"The price and location is great. The beach was so quiet which I loved. The bed was super comfy and clean. I would say the carpets could use some cleaning/replacing but we stayed in a pet friendly room so that is to be expected. The staff was super friendly. We enjoyed our stay and plan on using this hotel again!"

"one the BEST hotels i’ve ever stayed out. this was my husband and I’s first night away from our baby and they made it the best. My husband unexpectedly had knee surgery but refused to cancel our weekend away. Dawn, the sweetest lady i’ve ever met, checked us in and gave us a bigger room than we originally planned to accommodate him and I even better. I am so thankful. The staff is very sweet from front desk to cleaning service. They had us smiling from the time we checked in all the way to check out. The hotel is huge, extremely clean and well kept, and close enough to the water but far enough from the main roads. Will 100% be back. Thank you again!!"

"It’s nice! Me and my husband stayed a night here in December, We got the King size suite with a jacuzzi- The man at the desk was very helpful answered all questions, There is plenty of parking, also we got to choose what floor we wanted to say on so we went with the 8th, we got a corner room with a cute balcony with a great view of the shoreline. the room itself was clean, and the housekeeping was stoked well for a two person stay. We love the sleek clean furniture, and spacious storage for those who are staying longer. another thing to comment is the little coffee& tee/microwave/mini fridge section was clean, stocked, and plentiful. The jacuzzi was spacious and nicely fit two adults, very deep and comfortable. The only things I’d have to comment on that weren’t 5 stars is the King size bed was a queen for sure- I wish there were a TV channel guide in the room, the bathroom light was wonky (but there were two so that worked out fine) and the toilet itself was a bit crocked and the handle was very loose, some of the metal fixtures like the lamps and the toilet paper holder were showing mild rust, the elevator smelled strongly of stale smoke- which is surprising considering the advertising says a smoke free hotel- and on our balcony there was a cup full of water and cigarette/blunt butts inside that. (the balcony was clean along with a nicely cleaned room aside from the makeshift ash tray) My husband and I aren’t the pickiest or anything of the sort because we didn’t bug about any of the little things. we were very happy to stay here :) P.S I know it’s common sense that the jacuzzi would make noise but I felt like even in a smaller hotel room i was afraid we would be bugging the neighbors!! but loved it nonetheless. Over all we were very satisfied, the money point of this room is definetly the view, the location and the jacuzzi- I’m sure we will come again soon :)"
