The Schooner Inn
"South-boardwalk oceanfront where multiple guests praise the in-room whirlpool tub by name."
About The Hotel
The Schooner Inn is a 3.6-rated south-boardwalk oceanfront on Atlantic Avenue at 2nd Street near Rudee Inlet, and it is the quiet standout in Virginia Beach for in-room whirlpool tubs — multiple guests praise the whirlpool tub by name (“Whirlpool tub made it extra special,” “the in room jacuzzi tub was fantastic”). Not every room has one, so confirm the whirlpool-tub room type at booking. The property is an older three-star with an outdoor pool, free parking and helpful staff, but housekeeping consistency and water-service interruptions have been flagged. Best for couples who want a rare in-room whirlpool tub on the Virginia Beach oceanfront and don’t mind the south end’s distance from the central boardwalk action.
What Guests Are Saying
“I cannot say enough about how much we adored our stay here. It is so charming, so quaint, and very obviously well loved. Everyone we encountered on staff was genuinely warm and welcoming, the hotel was clean and bright. The proximity to the boardwalk is amazing, its within walking distance to the most beautiful brunch spot and surf shops. The hotel was amazingly quiet and calm despite us staying on Memorial Day weekend during a festival on the boardwalk. The balconies are a very decent size, the bathrooms are spacious. The whirlpool is so quirky and just adds so much to the old school charm of this place. The parking is super convenient with a reserved parking lot for guests (very helpful for being on the boardwalk). Family friendly as well, I would highly recommend for those with little ones! We are so in love with the Schooner, Im so grateful I went with this place instead of a chain hotel. It’s old school Americana realness, we are booking our next stay asap. I will miss this place everyday, thank y’all so so much. 1000000/10” — Yen H., 5 stars
“Friendly and accommodating staff. Maintenance & housekeeping attentive & timely. Attractive & clean room, smelled fresh. Whirlpool tub made it extra special. Great location. Balcony was small due to it being an end unit but still enough room for two. Lobby smells like cigarette smoke. Great overall experience regardless. Will definitely return.” — BEA L., 5 stars
“Staff there was amazing, price couldn’t be beat, room was very clean and right on the beach with a great view of the ocean. Liked it so much…stayed there on the return trip too. Staff had some good recommendations for activities even though it was off season.” — Preston P., 5 stars

What guests are saying about The Schooner Inn.
"My husband and I stayed here in January for ~$80. Our room had an ocean view, 2 queen beds, a table with 4 chairs, and a small kitchen area. (Kitchen area included some dishes, cutlery, sink, fridge, microwave, and cabinetry.) This place is a great value for the money, BUT, despite numerous 'no smoking' signs posted throughout the property, some guests decided their marijuana didn't fall under that umbrella. If you don't mind recreational aromas, this is the place for you!"

View on Google"Great place to stay in Virginia Beach as it right on the beach with great rooms, easy parking, and quick access to the boardwalk. My room had a nice balcony with views out over the ocean and a cool hot tub. The location was away from the main, busy boardwalk area, but close enough to easily walk"
