Hilton Vacation Club Ocean Beach Club
"3.3-rated Hilton Vacation Club timeshare oceanfront on 34th Street — set expectations."
About The Hotel
Hilton Vacation Club Ocean Beach Club Virginia Beach is a 3.3-rated Hilton Vacation Club timeshare oceanfront directly on the boardwalk at 34th Street, between the Hilton oceanfront tower and Four Sails. The property runs a pool, a bar, an indoor children’s play area, and paid parking. Scores run soft across the board (cleanliness 3.9, rooms 3.7, service 3.6, value 3.3) with reviewer flags about housekeeping delays, room-type substitutions and a difficult Diamond Resorts / HGV transition. A timeshare oceanfront rather than an in-room-jacuzzi property — best when you know the timeshare model going in. Positive reviews mention 12th-floor ocean-view rooms and long-time trades that worked out; negative reviews are consistent about cleanliness lapses.

“Last week I stayed at the Hilton Ocean Beach Club Hotel. It’s not my first time staying at this property and it won’t be my last. I chose to come during winter so as not to compete with too many other visitors for relaxation, peace and quiet. I usually come when the weather is warm. I was checked in by Marquita who was a delight from beginning to end with my check-in process. I had an ocean view studio room with a kitchenette in it which made it nice to put simple things together to eat when I didn’t want to venture out too far. These rooms have floor to ceiling windows which makes watching the ocean intoxicating. I saw a school of dolphins practically every morning which made my eyes dance. By my second night I was having comfort issues with the bed and rose my concern at the front desk. Aishadia overheard my concern and stepped in to take over from the person I initially began talking with. Aishadia gave me the energy that my personal comfort and satisfaction was her #1 goal…and guess what, she SCORED! I was smoothly and easily moved to another room that was more suited and I was ever so grateful. From there, my visit was met with decisions of what time I planned on going down to the indoor pool and jacuzzi at the adjoining sister property. That’s as hard as it got for me…lol. I stayed on a high floor so the tranquility and relaxation I was able to achieve helped me decompress a lot. The day I was checking out my room phone rang. It was Ms. Luvinia. She had called to check and see how my stay had been. STELLAR!, I told her. We talked about the similarity and history of our first names. We’re both named after our Great-Grandmother’s. How special is that. :-) Thanks to the team for making my stay so easy, comfortable and relaxing. If you’ll have me, I will be back soon…lol.” — LR, 5 stars
“We stayed here through RCI. We found a last minute room on Friday with a Sunday checkin. Our reservation came in from RCI around checkin time. Apparently this is common and the managers are used to creating a reservation if you have your confirmation email. The front deak staff isn’t used to this so feel free to ask for a manager. The assistant director and assistant general manager took excellent care of us. The hotel staff is very friendly and willing to help. By default the RCI rooms are on the side or back of the building and can not see the ocean. If you want to be on the ocean front you need to arrive at checkin time. If possible they will give you an ocean front room if you request it. The hotel does charge a daily fee but has great amenities. They bring whatever you need to your room. They have most of the basic necessities you need. The two bedroom is very different from what we are used to through RCI. The secong bedroom is actually a studio. The two rooms have a very small hallway and you need a key for the 1 bedroom unit and your key also opens the studio room. It depends on your needs but the privacy in the second bedroom was awesome for us. If you have small children in the second bedroom you may not like that. It is hard to watch them. The second bedroom has it’s own private balcony, queen bed, table with 2 chairs, and a wet bar with fridge. This is the perfect setup if 2 couples are traveling together. We love this resort in off season. During the summer months VA Beach is very crowded. We highly recommend this resort” — Aimei T., 5 stars
“We really like the location of this resort, on the boardwalk, near Neptune Park, and walking distance to several good restaurants. Sharing facilities with the sister resort next door is an added benefit. Our last two stays were timeshare exchanges with Interval International, and we lucked out with oceanfront or oceanside rooms. This was an RCI exchange, and we heard that RCI exchangers always got the no-balcony city view units. This proved true as we were first assigned 909A, which was recently remodeled but had a city view that included a construction site with a pile driver across the street. Ugh. The concierge/timeshare sales rep (Victoria) said she would see if we could move the following day (Monday) but that it wasn’t likely. So, it was a pleasant surprise when we received a text while at the pool Monday afternoon, saying we’d been upgraded. THANKS, Victoria! Our new assignment was 1402A which was an end unit with a bay window ocean view in the living room and sliding doors to the balcony in our direct oceanfront bedroom. The upgrade was a gamechanger for our “vacation experience” as RCI likes to call it. The kitchen was tiny, but we didn’t care. It had full size appliances and the basics for kitchen equipment but minimal storage space groceries. We were unbelievably lucky in hitting an abnormal hot spell. The weather was exactly the same as our previous stay three years earlier in June! Totally amazing. Between the oceanfront unit and high 70s weather, we had an incredible stay!” — Kay7979, 5 stars

View on Google"We stayed here 5 nights and had a great experience! Location is perfect, you’re right in the mix of things… beach is really nice and well taken care of, there’s even a playground on the beach right by the hotel. It’s beautiful to walk the boardwalk, and you’re only 5 mins from Neptune Park. Very reasonably priced, an indoor pool with 2 outdoor pools (we didn’t even check these out as we spent most of the time on the beach… but nonetheless they looked nice). Staff was also very nice and welcoming. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back"

My body was sore and I wanted to rest in the hot tub and enjoy a nice sleep. The bed was nice, but I was reeeeallly disappointed when I discovered the “hot tub” was colder than the pool that it is attached to. I searched multiple hotels before picking this one and thought there was no way that the hot tub would be crappy at this hotel. It may seem silly, but it really did spoil my night and I may as well just have stayed home and watched tv there."
