About The Hotel

Berry Hill Resort & Conference Center is a 4.2-rated 700-acre historic estate resort in Southside Virginia — a hotel wing plus historic-mansion suites, pool, spa with couples-massage bookings (Agnes gets 5-star praise), hiking trails, bicycle rentals, Darby’s Tavern and conference facilities. Subratings run 4.1–4.5 with cleanliness (4.5) and sleep quality (4.5) the strongest. One 2025 review of the Bruce Suite in the historic mansion flags water damage and musty odors — book the newer hotel wing rather than the mansion suites for the reliable experience.

What Guests Are Saying

“This is a wonderful hidden gem!!! Everything was so beautiful. Our first time but not our last. No other hotel in South Boston Va can hold a candle to The Berry Hill Hotel & Conference Center. We have been to all of the other hotels & this is by far the best. Customer service was amazing! Thank you all so much!!” — Johanna B., 5 stars

“This was my 5th visit and for a reason-it’s a great place. The service is excellent, the staff is attentive. The brunch is wholesome and with plenty of variety but I wish there are more freshly prepared and healthier items on the menu like salads and grilled food. I will definitely be coming back.” — John, 5 stars

“The room and basic facilities were very nice, clean and well-maintained. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Darby’s Tavern had great food and a great assortment of beverages. I could not find an ice machine that worked anywhere in the complex. Truly a beautiful facility!” — Richard K., 5 stars

"We celebrated a wedding at this venue. I cannot say one bad thing!!! Everything was 5 star. The Darby Tavern was my favorite. The food was spot on and the service was top notch. The staff were always as pleasant and helpful as they could be. The views were spectacular and grounds were very well maintained. The history tidbits placed randomly made you go back in time as to how the country lived hundreds of years ago. I recommend this venue 100% and would love to go back for things such as Murder Mystery Night"

"We booked a room in 1 of the mini mansions, The Jefferson. Very quiet, very clean and very comfortable. ALL STAFF has been very nice/friendly and made us feel welcomed. The property is great, plenty of walking trails. The self guided tour of the historic mansion was great! The resort just happened to not have any big events this weekend so it felt as if we had the place to ourselves, a big bonus for us! Would highly recommend Berryhill to friends and family."

"We truly enjoyed our stay. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are quite large and there's plenty of food options. We didn't stop for continental breakfast, instead we had brunch in the mansion. Brunch was very good and our server was hospitable, and prompt. I had a massage at the spa and a refresher nail service. Prices were reasonable. We would stay here again."
