About The Hotel

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Norfolk Airport is a 3.3-rated DoubleTree on North Military Highway near Norfolk International Airport, with an airport shuttle, pool, bar/lounge, table tennis, kids-friendly activities and pet-friendly rooms. Softer scores (cleanliness 3.7, rooms 3.5, value 3.5) and candid recent flags include overpricing, multiple deposit fees on top of the room rate, and a Hilton Diamond member reporting a disappointing stay. A brand Hilton with the airport-shuttle draw rather than an in-room-jacuzzi property. The front-desk crew (Tyler, Tina, Tia) and the breakfast buffet are the honest bright spots — set expectations on the room finish before booking.

What Guests Are Saying

“Tyler and Tina at the front desk are an awesome team. Despite juggling about 10 things simultaneously, they accommodated a request to print a few pages for my work. Also, the breakfast buffet is fantastic with frequent refreshes by the kitchen staff. The heat in my room was turned up to 82F when I arrived due to the cold snap (outdoors is well below freezing). I am comfortable at 68F and the thermostat in the room is working beautifully to keep it right at 68 for comfortable sleeping. Really impressed with the maintenance and upkeep of this place as not many hotels have thermostats that actually work. Nice job to the crew. Overall, my stay here has been great.” — mike J., 5 stars

“I love staying at this hotel. The staff is always friendly, the rooms are always clean and we our time here. With that, I wanted to recognize Towanda. Every time I come to town and she is working she is always helpful. Tonight she went out of her way to help me with an issue that I had. Without hesitation she ensured that my concern was addressed and the issue was resolved. That’s what I call customer service! She is yet another reason why I enjoy staying at this hotel. Great job Towanda, your efforts are appreciated!” — Lafayette W., 5 stars

“We needed a hotel with an airport shuttle to ORF. More and more hotels are eliminating shuttle service. This DoubleTree fit the bill. The focus on customer service made this the right choice. From Tia (shuttle driver and her assistants) to Tiffany, Jamie and Sarah (housekeeping rep), everyone made the stay a pleasure. It has been a very long time since my wife and I felt like we really got our money’s worth at an inn of any brand/kind.” — Donald A., 5 stars

"Good as per North American standard and much better than their competitors in the same price range. Fantastic people, very good and quick check out check in. Stayed two times. Very clean and convenient rooms for working. Good restaurant and huge portions(compared to anyone in Canada))). Gym is simple but i dont use it. If you want to kill competition install proper coffee machine for breakfast buffet.Us, Europeans need a tiny shot of espresso in the morning and we dont really drink huge filter coffee. Will stay here again for sure, thank you"

"Was a little nervous about staying here after reading some of the other reviews, however, I will definitely stay here again. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Efficiently checked me in and answered my questions regarding the airport shuttle. My room was updated, modern, clean and the bed slept well. The shuttle driver was pleasant and personable. She went out of her way to accommodate everyone aboard. Safe driver! We left on time and arrived early to the airport. Thanks again for helping make my stay enjoyable."

"Enjoyed my stay here while my husband was working in the area. The process was quick and easy not to mention the warm, delicious cookies and bottle of water provided upon check-in. Additionally, Ms. Shantell at the front desk greeted us with the utmost professionalism and kindness. She made sure we were okay and asked if we needed anything. The rooms were nice and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Could use more water pressure in the bathroom; however, the water was hot enough to shower. The breakfast buffet was a little expensive but the food was good and there was a variety of everything. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely stay here again."
