What Guests Are Saying

“The beds were comfortable. Run down. Patched walls, paper thin blankets. Had to ask for some and they gave us ones with holes and cigarette burns. Toilet seat was all scratched up. Closet was blocked and unusable. Elevator isn’t working. Had to ask for everything… towels, soap, toilet paper… went down to get a cup of tea and there were black flecks in the water. We found 2 roaches during our stay.” — Mama T., 2 stars

“We recently stayed at the Super 8 in Lynchburg, VA and unfortunately had a very poor experience. The condition of both the room and building raised serious cleanliness and health concerns. We were visiting to attend my daughters graduation at Liberty University. The whole town was packed and rooms were booked months out. The option to not stay wasnt an option otherwise we would be sleeping in our car after a 2 day drive from Illinois. Otherwise we definitely would not have stayed here. The biggest issue was the air conditioning unit, which was covered in visible mold and heavy dust buildup. Not only is this a potential allergy/asthma hazard, but the amount of buildup looked like it could even become a fire risk. The room smelled musty the entire stay. The room itself felt extremely dirty and poorly maintained. The floors were sticky, there were visible stains on the curtains and walls, and there were bugs in the corners of the floor. We also found and killed an active roach crawling on the wall. The bedding was unacceptable as well — no top sheets, holes in the bedding, and stains on one of the beds. The bathroom was also in disrepair: no stoppers in either the sink or tub, no toilet paper holder, and holes in the wall. Lighting in the room was so dim we could barely see well enough to do makeup, and the ceiling fan did not work. The overall building condition was equally concerning. There were holes and damage throughout the property, everything looked dingy and neglected, and the elevator barely functioned properly — the doors took an extremely long time to close and register movement. Even the room door had a visible crack where you could see directly into the hallway. Overall, this hotel felt unsafe, unclean, and extremely run down. We understand budget hotels are not luxury accommodations, but basic cleanliness, maintenance, and health standards should still be expected. We would not stay here again.” — Julie W., 1 star

“Stayed there 2/12/2025. From checkin, where I was insulted by the desk clerk, through getting into the room, -5 stars all the way. Booked me for the 3rd floor, with the elevator out. For 2 70+ year olds, this was a chanllenge for my wife and I. Got to the room, no towels. Tried to call front desk only to find, the cord from the handset to the phone was not plugged in. Found out why; hand set plug was broken beyound use. What if we had an emergency and needed to call front desk? what if front desk had an emergency (lock down, evacuate. etc.) and they called us? We couldn’t talk with them due to thebroken phone. Even used our cell phones to call front desk. they hung up on us twice. So,I went down to the front desk and got some towels . Next morning, after wife took her shower, learned only got 1 towel, 2 hand towels, and 2 wash cloths. No bath mat and on a tile floor, that was treaturous. Also, after check in, went to log on the computer and discovered no chair for the desk in the room. Went to plug in chargers for the cell phones and computer and found 2 electrical outlets defective. 1st outlet had no cover. What a danger to someone with small children as this would allowed the child to put their fingers onto hpt wires. 2nd outlet in the bathroom arced when I plugged in the hair dryer. Oh yea, one rail on the stairs on the 2nd floor had been completely removed. Treacherous for 2 70+ YO guests. Overall, it is clear management of this place places profits over quality and safety. STAY AWAY FROM THIS establishment. We had no choice since an ice storm had taken out our power and all other hotels were booked. Next,I will go out of town. Last advice: stay away from this place!” — John L., 1 star

"Like many others I read the reviews and figured i was in for a bad night. I couldn't have been more wrong. The place smelled nice and the room was very clean. I had a good rest. I will definitely stay again."

"Checked in remotely so staff knew I was coming. Staff member Winston was ready for I when I arrived and had the room ready for me. He addressed all my room needs after settling in my room. The following morning, Winston was still at the desk, obviously short-staffed. He greeted me with a smile and began my day on a positive note. If all employees are like Winston, this Super8 is a 10."
