Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Youngstown
"Budget Days Inn with pool and whirlpool rooms near I-80, but 2.7 rating with cleanliness concerns."
About The Hotel
The Days Inn & Suites Youngstown / Girard is a budget chain hotel on East Liberty Street near the I-80 crossroads. It caters to road travelers seeking low-cost overnight lodging and has an indoor pool plus some rooms with whirlpools. The $55–60 rate is competitive for the interstate corridor. However, the 2.7-star rating reflects significant shortcomings in cleanliness and maintenance. Guest reviews report dirty carpets, stained bedding, mold, non-functional or dirty whirlpools, and unresponsive management. Best for cost-conscious travelers who will inspect the room immediately and have a backup plan if standards are not met.
What Guests Are Saying
“By far the worst hotel experience yet. Lobby dirty. Lot dirty. Ice machine brown streaks down the front and side. Trash in lobby. Smells terrible like musty old smoke. Room carpet and bedding stained. Hot tub out of order. Pool murky and stagnant. No iron in room. Room restroom dirty. Smells of marijuana and cigarette smoke. No extra sheets to cover filthy bed. Room bench soiled. THERE ARE NO SUITES IN THIS HOTEL SO DON’T BE FOOLED. Front desk staff said they’d reached out to the online management to update the listing to no avail. Hotel management and Wyndham unwilling to refund nor do they care. Even after I provided photos of my terrible stay here they wrote me back saying… Dear Mario, We are sorry to hear about your negative experience at the hotel. We do the best that we can to have the hotel clean as we have hundreds of people coming in and out of the facility on some days. We do not provide any kind of refunds or compensation on an unpleasant stay. We had many people who stayed on the date you had booked the rooms and we got great feedback and nobody complained. All 3 rooms were used and you did stay in them. If you would have made a decision within 15 minutes after checking in and did not use the rooms then we could have refunded you. However, that did not happen and you stayed in the 3 rooms. Unfortunately, we do not provide any compensation for these kinds of claims. We understand that we lose your future business and that you will stay elsewhere. We again apologize for any inconvenience to you. Thank you. Take care. “I begin by saying I gave it a one star rating because there was not an option to give it zero! The room was filthy, sheets had splattered paint on them, the hot tub was full of hair and dirt, the blow dryer did not work, the shower curtain would not properly close because the rod was on so crooked the curtain just slid down to the middle, the shower curtain had mold on the bottom corners, the bath towels had brown stains on them and were like sand paper, had to clean the mirror to see in it, the “complimentary” shampoo was half full. The complimentary breakfast was a grab-n-go, but first you had to find someone to crab it because nothing was in the kitchenette (we didn’t bother). We would had been better off sleeping in our car!!!!” — Ann J., 1 star
“Bathroom had a leak in it, and was dirty - human hair all over the floor and tub. Didn’t realize how bad the leak was until I woke up the next day - needless to say, I left this motel without taking a shower. Also, I discovered that the window had been left unlocked, and I was on the ground floor. Anyone from the poorly-lit parking lot could have gotten in! Their website says they provide both breakfast and a fitness center, which is untrue. If you are a female traveling alone, you should not stay here.” — fiercehabits, 1 star
