Berlin Resort is a well-maintained resort-style hotel just outside the Berlin village center in Holmes County. It sits on County Road 201, steps from the craft shops and a short drive from the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center, Yoder’s Amish Home and the Holmes County Trail. The indoor pool, free breakfast, kids’ play areas and excellent cleanliness make it the go-to family base for Amish Country. It is a pool-and-family property rather than an in-room-jacuzzi one; the draw is the central location, the clean rooms and the reliable amenities.

“We have stayed at several hotels in Berlin, Ohio. Berlin Resort was definitely one of the best. The room was very clean and well appointed. The pool and hot tub are fantastic and the free breakfast has scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy and hotcakes all very good. The grounds of the resort are beautiful and well maintained. There is a mile of walking trail including a gazebo and koi pond. We spent one rainy day just sitting on our balcony looking out over the grounds listening to the birds. “The resort is beautiful. The grounds are well maintained. There’s walking past with a river running through it. And so many amenities. Lots to do for the kids. Everything is clean in our room and the suites building was like an apartment. Updated and modern. With a huge shower. We stayed in room 401 which was nice and quiet and away from the lobby area. But if I was staying for more than one night, I would actually stay in the other rooms facing the grounds versus the street. The Koi Pond was so much fun feeding the fish.” — Christy L., 5 stars

“A great place. Take both a debit card and cash because some places take only cash and some take only a debit card. Also hotels add on a refundable fee for the room. If it is ok when you leave they refund it. Ours was $50 and still waiting for it. Also check places to eat as most have a lunch discount.
