WaterView Casino & Hotel
"3.1-rated budget riverfront casino on Washington Street with pool, bar, and dated rooms—inspect before staying."
About The Hotel
WaterView Casino & Hotel is a 3.1-rated, 109-review property on Washington Street along the Mississippi River. The hotel offers a low rate starting at $85 per night, with a casino, pool, bar and lounge, and river views. Jetted-tub rooms are available as a specific room type to confirm at booking. However, candid reviews flag dated rooms, shower pressure issues, water-damaged woodwork, and inconsistent upkeep. One reviewer noted mildew in the shower and water-spotted mirrors around the jetted tub. The property has potential but requires careful room inspection. Smoke from the connected casino can permeate hallways.
What Guests Are Saying
“I was a little nervous to check-in here, because of the reviews. However was pleasantly surprised. I called to ask if I could check-in early, the lady politely told me she could let me check in by 2:30, I wasn’t arriving until past 3 anyway. When I checked in, the front desk clerk (Sondra) was super nice and accommodating. She made sure I was in a river view room and answered multiple questions that I had about the area. Incredibly sweet lady. The room was gorgeous. It was clean! I see what some might have mistaken as mold.. it’s mildew in the shower and you’re on the bank of the Mississippi River. Common sense goes a long way. The air conditioning in the room did struggle in the afternoon. Once again, you’re on the bank of the Mississippi River in May. A cool May, but still incredibly humid. Closing the curtain to the sun really helps this in the afternoon. Will definitely stop here again!” — Shanna M., 5 stars
“We were excited for this location, however a few things put a damper on it. There was only a dribble of water coming out of the shower in room 311, it was unusable. The elevators sometimes worked. And the back area facing the Mississippi left a lot to be desired… It had so much potential.” — Sightsee161250, 2 stars
“I chose this for the advertised balcony overlooking the Missippi River, which was a very lovely view. It is listed as a non-smoking hotel but with a connected hallway between hotel and attached casino, the smoke has permeated the lobby and elevator. Everything about the place seems dirty. The “check-in lady” was just plain gruff - not welcoming at all. There is no in-room coffee, the lobby coffee machine is gross. The only positive I can share is that the room was spacious. It came with a hot tub (in the bed room). The mirror around it was so water spotted - having not been cleaned, who would want to use the tub? The bathroom woodwork was seriously water damaged and not repaired. Do not recommend and would not return.” — DL G., 2 stars

"One of the best hotel rooms I ever stayed in. Amazing view of the river. Top notch friendly staff. Casino was nice , but I'm not a fan of cigarette smoke filled areas. The Sand Bar Grill was fantastic. The Ribeye was one of the best steaks I've eaten. Tender, juicy & delicious. Will go back."

View on Google"Really nice little hotel. Balcony rooms have a super nice view over the Mississippi river. The room was big, bedscwere clean and comfortable. Just a few little things I want to point out. No hair conditioner, and not a closet to hang your clothes.. a little bar to hang but no hangers. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. Hotel staff very friendly. Casino. We loved the layout of the casino. The payouts were not great but not bad either, we got entertained. Ms Thomasina, the bartender, was absolutely amazing but her shift ends at 6.om The one after her, mhhh, enjoyed watching football instead of serving the customers. Which lead is to be in room at 8 pm, it was too frustrating to not even get a beer . The food in the cafe was decent and service was good. Overall, we will come back, we enjoyed it much."
