About The Hotel

The 4.1-star rating across 151 reviews reflects a charming, low-key resort atmosphere with strong scores for location (4.6), cleanliness (4.4), and service (4.4). Amenities include an 18-hole golf course, a pool, canoeing on the bay, and a coffee shop. Recent guests note the property blends traditional charm with modern comfort, though some rooms feel dated. The bayfront setting offers relaxation rather than direct beach access, making it ideal for golfers and groups seeking a nostalgic retreat.

What Guests Are Saying

“A delightful location; comfortable room & a lovely welcome . This is my 10th year of staying at Gulf Hills .I spend two weeks annually -(travelling from Belgium)- visiting family & friends . Over the years I have watched the hotel blossom into a place where traditional qualities meet with modern needs - without losing its charm and character. My room was well appointed and clean - and the walk-in shower an added bonus. With a view overlooking the golf course; a swimming pool in elegant surroundings; a ‘Sunset Bar’ and helpful staff - I am already looking forward to my next trip !!” — Kathryn0770, 5 stars

“When we got there I loved the area, thought the bar, pool and decks were nice, It is disappointing that there is not restaurant or breakfast available. The rooms were clean but seemed older even though refurbished. The beds were comfortable and air conditioning worked well. The bathroom area was unfortunately designed as there is no privacy in the shower or toilet area if others want to use the sink area at the same time. My friends did enjoy our stay here and it was reasonably priced.” — Cathy L., 4 stars

“They have put lipstick on this old motel. Rooms are clean and beds are super comfy. They changed my reservation and staff treated me as the problem AC is LOUD!b.” — JP T., 2 stars

"An amazingly quaint hidden gem in Ocean Springs. We ended up here on a whim instead of going to one of the large chain hotels and only wish we had been able to stay longer! A cool vintage vibe with plenty of Elvis flair. We will be back!"

"Cute little hotel; very old but modernized. It's right on a 9 hole golf course and has the bayou out back. Rates were reasonable and the hotel staff were friendly. The room was adequate if a little small and the bed was comfy. The shower was great, however, the towels could use an upgrade. This property is a short drive to a cute little beach town and the beach. This was our first time in Mississippi. If we ever make it back to the area, we would consider staying here again."
