About The Hotel

Pearl River Resort is a full-service casino property on Highway 16 West in Choctaw, operated by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians near Philadelphia. The resort combines gaming, dining, and entertainment in one location, with a bar and lounge offering live entertainment. Geyser Falls water park and Dancing Rabbit golf course are nearby. Specific room types include jetted-tub suites, though these must be confirmed at booking. The property offers a self-contained getaway in the Mississippi pines with gaming-and-golf packages. However, candid reviews consistently flag dated rooms, variable cleanliness across towers, and maintenance inconsistencies, so confirming your specific room condition before check-in is advisable.

What Guests Are Saying

“WE stayed 17-20th…the hotel the golden moon had issues and was transferred over to silverstar…ill take either hotel …in the past we only had one issue on getting rooms on time etc…but this trip was very good except for noisey neighbors whom just had to scream and fight to get attention, other than that the stay was great, hotel wise…the slots needs an upgrade to the old familiar ones not all tigers and dragons galore…but i will write one complaint about a restaurant there …the BISTRO…i dont know if theyre in a strain for eggs, or ran out of food , or even short staffed…we ordered egg breakfasts and two quesadillas…ok how long does it take to prepare eggs? we waited 45 full minutes for food- nothing…waitress comes out says 5 more minutes…we wait 5, she never returns…with no explanation, no one at the check out counter, no explanation and we left..that was our only issue, the waitress shouldve came out and addressed what the problem was but we got nothing and ended up eating crackers and cheese for our dinner from another venue…i know times are hard on us all since covid etc…but at least talk to your customers about problems…but i love coming to pearl river , the stays are good and they try…and yes ill be back…but plz upgrade things a little…” — James B., 5 stars

“Music in the casino is bad. Lots of sad love songs. In the mornings is really, really bad. I tried to play in the morning, but I just couldn’t stand it anymore. Old songs like from the 1940’s. Songs I never heard before. Lots of penny machines which I love. Free soft-drink stands with bigger foam cups. Casino was ICY cold. Not sure why casinos are doing this lately. A new study from Vegas? It’s 80+ outside and people are wearing shorts and tank tops. Why make it so cold. It’s only going to make me leave as fast as possible. It’s not going to make me more alert. All employees were wearing sweaters or jackets. Lots of players were wearing sweatshirts, etc. You get $5 free play when you reach 700 points. A lot of people were playing without their players card. Hotel. Silver Star No fridge or microwave. We parked in parking garage. Nice 5x make up mirror but it’s not lighted. Took a while for hot water to run. Be patient. If you are a member call to make hotel reservation. We got $10 off the room rate with our player’s card number.” — Charon W., 3 stars

“While the staff are wonderful and extremely friendly. The hotel rooms are completely DISGUSTING. the bathrooms don’t look like they’ve been cleaned with actual cleaning supplies or at all! The shower wall had white clumpy stains and clearly the bathtub base had not been cleaned. The toilet was absolutely disgusting. And finally the mattress felt like sleeping on a bale of hay.. was here for a family reunion and I can say without hesitation I definitely won’t be back here to stay again.. disappointed” — Catina C., 2 stars

"Driving to and from Dallas to Aiken, SC, the casino is a great stopping point about halfway. Slots are good. Every time I played my money lasted quite awhile. I don't go to the casino for a big win but I like to play on my money, some casinos just like to suck you dry quickly. People are friendly. Could probably use a couple more waitresses. A very nice place."

"We love the Golden Moon. It's our vacation getaway every 2-3 months! (Sometimes more often.) The staff is wonderful and we have befriended several and that makes it even more special to see your friends on vacation! It can get abit too loud on Friday and Saturday nights when the bands play. I prefer to hear when I'm talking to someone next to me, but have to turn my hearing aides off during that time. But... when the bands quit, it's nice again. We do wish they'd fix the elevators though. Not many guests seem to alert the staff when something is wrong or needs repair in rooms or elsewhere. So they don't know! The hot water in our VIP suite was hooked up to a toilet in the bathroom off the livingroom. It wouldn't work so we reported it! It didn't make us mad, just a minor inconvenience. (I wouldn't want that plumber for my own home.) We can't wait to head back next month! Such a great getaway for us. We love the Bistro 24!! We met 4 friends there. We often bring friends with us to introduce them to PRR! They live it too! Update to 12/2025... planning New Year's there for a few nights/days. Have reservations and can't wait! Renovations are underway for the resort so we expect a little caos but it'll be worth it. We live so many hours away, it'll be a long time until our next visit. I imagine A LOT of awesome, additional surprises on the discussion block will/should be completed by then. We're not going in the middle of it all."

"The machines were not paying out like normal. Normally you win a little on a casino and lose a little. This trip it was about all losses. It was the same story from other people I talked with. Maybe it will be better once they are done with the renovation that they are about to do."
