"Our stay at Afton House Inn was so nice! It was perfect for January with the cozy fireplace and hot tub in our room. We look forward to coming back in the summer to stay in a riverside room with the view and easy access to the river for boating. Everyone working during our stay were so friendly and accommodating. "Amazing, friendly and helpful staff! Peggy bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable during the snow storm. Sarah brought up a fridge for my room and was super friendly. Jessie brought out a big breakfast for us. Shane was very kind and carried our heavy luggage up the stairs to our rooms. A++"

Tub types, explained

What's the difference between a jacuzzi, whirlpool, and soaking tub?

Jacuzzi

Technically a brand name, but used generically for any jetted tub. In hotel listings, "jacuzzi suite" almost always means a private in-room tub with built-in air or water jets. Heat is usually preset; jets are user-controlled.

Whirlpool

Functionally identical to a jacuzzi — water jets circulate heated water for a massage effect. The term is more common at Marriott, Hilton, and Wyndham brands. Most "whirlpool suites" hold two adults comfortably.

Soaking tub

Deeper than a standard bathtub, usually 18–22 inches, but with no jets. Common in boutique and luxury hotels — quieter, more spa-like, and better for a long hot soak than the jet-driven hum of a jacuzzi.

Hot tub

In strict use, a standalone heated tub holding 100°F+ water. In hotel marketing, often used interchangeably with jacuzzi or whirlpool. A genuine in-room "hot tub" with full thermostat control is rare outside cabin-style resorts.
