"Just came for lunch at their restaurant cos I heard the food was good and it REALLY IS. Great portion sizes and fresh ingredients. We were laughing at the size of their Walleye sandwich, it was bigger than my friends head. The pita bread was delicious. My burrata salad was the only dish that was mediocre, hence the 4 stars."

"Overall great hotel, bed not very comfortable, hot tub and pool were great, lacked towels though. Fitness center had everything we needed. Away from downtown so not walkable but they provided a few shuttle if you don't want to drive. It's a tad pricy for the location and time of year."

"We stayed at Tamarack Lodge for only 1 night as we traveled north. The bed was so comfortable, the room was so cozy and we had some wine by the fireplace. Our room had a balcony with view to the lake. Even though it was very cold that night, we enjoyed the view. We definitely will be back there again."

Tub types, explained

What's the difference between a jacuzzi, whirlpool, and soaking tub?

Jacuzzi

Technically a brand name, but used generically for any jetted tub. In hotel listings, "jacuzzi suite" almost always means a private in-room tub with built-in air or water jets. Heat is usually preset; jets are user-controlled.

Whirlpool

Functionally identical to a jacuzzi — water jets circulate heated water for a massage effect. The term is more common at Marriott, Hilton, and Wyndham brands. Most "whirlpool suites" hold two adults comfortably.

Soaking tub

Deeper than a standard bathtub, usually 18–22 inches, but with no jets. Common in boutique and luxury hotels — quieter, more spa-like, and better for a long hot soak than the jet-driven hum of a jacuzzi.

Hot tub

In strict use, a standalone heated tub holding 100°F+ water. In hotel marketing, often used interchangeably with jacuzzi or whirlpool. A genuine in-room "hot tub" with full thermostat control is rare outside cabin-style resorts.
