About The Hotel

From $461/night, the York Harbor Inn is a 4.2-rated historic property across four buildings, beloved for ocean views, acclaimed dining, and attentive service. Ocean-view luxury rooms feature in-room jacuzzi tubs and balconies; a new in-ground harbor hot tub overlooks the water. Room quality varies — some are dated or small — and restaurant events and weekend traffic can strain hot water and soundproofing. Best for couples who value dining and location and will book a quieter upstairs room and confirm their building in advance.

What Guests Are Saying

“We just took a “midweek weekend” and had our first stay at York Harbor Inn. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer time. EVERYONE from the people I spoke with on the phone, to those at the desk, and those in the restaurants were incredibly friendly and helpful. So much so, that my husband, friend who was with us, and I kept commenting on it to each other. We got an email the day of our reservation saying that pipes had burst in the building we had for our reservation (they have four (I think it’s four) buildings that comprise the inn) and they gave us options for other rooms. They upgraded us to a really lovely room. The location is excellent - across the street from the ocean. The furnishings were old (in a good way), heavy, wood pieces that really contributed to the place feeling warm and homey. The beds were superior. The shower pressure was strong. The sharing living room with fire place was so comfortable. The breakfast was top shelf. Homemade coffee cake and apple cake and blueberry muffins. Homemade pancakes one morning. Everything about breakfast was great - and included in the room cost. They have a restaurant and a pub in the main building. We ate at both. The staff were wonderful. The servings were more than ample (the bean and goat cheese salad was enormous, and the mussels appetizer was super generous). I had the ravioli with seafood, which was delicious. My husband loved the mussels. The crab cakes were truly full of crab meat, not filler. Our servers were relaxed, helpful, and friendly - making our dining even more enjoyable. We definitely will return to the Inn, and recommend it to everyone we know. It was a special couple days. Did I mention how friendly the people are there?” — Christopher &., 5 stars

“The York Harbor Inn was an excellent weekend in York Maine. We booked this “Motown Music event” which did not disappoint. We stayed 2 nights. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted with an excellent reception detailing the amenities for the weekend. The room was beautiful comfortable bed and with a rooftop balcony overlooking the York Harbor. There was a new in ground hot spa (large like a pool) with a beautiful patio, seating and fire pit. We went to the Ships Cellar pub for Friday dinner and enjoyed conversation with other guests and locals. Happy hour special 4-5pm and great flat bread pizza. Saturday was the Motown Music in the ballroom at 8pm. The music event was fun with lots of singing and dancing. We had a $50 voucher towards dinner and ate at the 1637 Dining room at the Inn before the Motown event. The service, staff and the restaurant were excellent. The food was delicious and a nice variety. Food was served hot and the fudge sundae dessert cold. Wonderful dinner, great service in a dining room with windows looking out at the ocean. Perfect weekend. Highly recommend and we will return. Thank you to everyone at your Harbor Inn.” — HappyTravelers141, 5 stars

“We had a very nice stay at the York Harbor Inn and stayed in room 403 in the Harbor Hill building, an Ocean View Luxury King Room with Jacuzzi. The room was beautiful, very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The property itself is charming, romantic, and very well located. Overall, we really enjoyed the atmosphere of the inn. However, there are two things future guests should know. First, room 403 is located on the ground floor, and the ocean view is more limited than expected, especially when cars are parked in front of the building. It appears to be the same room category and price as some upstairs rooms, such as room 407, which seem to offer a better ocean view. Second, the soundproofing from the room above was disappointing. When the guests upstairs woke up around 6:00 a.m. and were noisy, we woke up as well. This happened 2 mornings out of 3 during our stay. That being said, the rest of our experience was excellent. We would especially like to mention Rachelle at the restaurant, if we remembered her name correctly. She was truly remarkable — warm, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. She brought joy to our mornings at breakfast and made a real difference in our stay. Overall, we would recommend the York Harbor Inn, but for a future visit, we would choose an upstairs room for a better view and a quieter experience.” — Jean-Francois L., 4 stars

"We stayed at the York Harbor Inn for the first time over New Year’s Eve and had an outstanding experience. The staff was warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, and the inn itself has wonderful historic charm. Our cozy suite was quiet, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing, romantic two-night escape. We enjoyed dinner at the 1637 Restaurant where the atmosphere was festive, the harbor views were beautiful, and the food was excellent. We topped the evening off with a New Year’s Eve celebration event in the ballroom, which was great fun and well organized. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. We highly recommend the York Harbor Inn. 5 glowing stars!"

"I love this place. The rooms are well maintained and clean, the grounds and inside spaces are beautiful. No matter where I am inside the Inn it feels warm, cozy, and relaxing. The included breakfast buffet is well rounded with fresh baked goods, savory favorites, and great coffee. Overall I felt well taken care of start to finish. I’ve stayed at many top “hotels” in the area and YHI is my favorite!"
