Sea Cliff House Motel
"Steps-to-the-beach motel with an outdoor pool, hot tub, and some jacuzzi rooms at budget rates."
About The Hotel
From $142/night — a beachfront motel with jacuzzi rooms and a pool. This 3.5-star oceanfront motel occupies a prime spot on Seacliff Avenue with an outdoor pool, hot tub, and some jacuzzi rooms. The renovated exterior and location shine, but expect dated, no-frills interiors and inconsistent service. Best for budget beachgoers who prize steps-to-the-sand access and don’t mind self-service motel style. Confirm the jacuzzi tub is clean before use, per guest notes. The location on Seacliff Avenue is quieter than downtown but still steps from the sand, with the Pier and downtown OOB a short walk.
What Guests Are Saying
“I surprised my wife with a weekend getaway to the Sea Cliff House. Good luck getting a room during the summer without a reservation at least a year in advance. That’s okay with us though, we don’t like big crowds anyways! We stayed 2-4 December when just about everything was closed for the season, but we didn’t have to go very far to find something to eat. Not to mention, there was no traffic. We stayed in room #1 with a view of the ocean, which was spectacular. And it had a jacuzzi tub. The tub itself was dirty and we had to clean it before we used it. And in my opinion, could have used some lighting above it. Everything else was clean and fresh though. It is an older place so if you are looking for up to date and modern, this is probably not the best place for you. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable and could use new ones. The young lady at the desk was very courteous. Overall we had a pleasant stay.” — Brian S., 4 stars
“Great location. Walk right on to beach. Accommodated our early checkin and room location (first floor). Parking space right outside your door. Ice machine handy, right by the office (white container holding coffee products, is the in room ice bucket). I had to ask. Rao , housekeeping staff very helpful. Isley, front desk also very helpful and had a fun sense of humor. Noel checked us in/out Pool lovely, clean and warm. I especially enjoyed the shelf to sit in the shallow part in the pool Did not partake in the hot tub but others using it seemed to enjoy their time in the hot tub when I asked. Enjoyed our two nights stay very much.” — julie D., 5 stars
“Very nicely done exterior renovations. Nice deck areas with chairs right outside each room. Right on the beach. Room was clean, staff friendly while we were there. Interior of room was weird mismatched mix of old furniture & decor, & TVs are super small but had great Chanel selection. Internet worked which was nice as our cell service was iffy here for some reason. Micro/Fridge combo was nice. Slow draining shower/tub basin & marginal shower head pressure. The biggest issue we had was that the room was extremely uncomfortable. We couldn’t get comfortable on any of the furniture, especially the couch (really a futon)… might as well been a torture rack, literally most uncomfortable ‘couch’ I’ve been on in 30+years of traveling as an adult. Not sure how some seniors could even get out of it. Was unfortunate as we were somewhat stuck in room for a day due to inclement weather. Bed wasn’t comfortable either, but nothing like how bad the living room couch was. No daily room service during stay. Prior place we stayed in Maine earlier in week serviced room daily. Hadn’t stayed in OOB since early 1990s & this was a refresher on how many/most of these motels are really summer party/crash pads that take a beating from guests. That said, the $100 damage deposit seems unnecessary during the off-season. Other guests we saw during our stay were primarily seniors. Even in off-season travel in the area again we’d pass on this motel solely based on how uncomfortable the room was for us.” — Rich807, 3 stars

What guests are saying about Sea Cliff House Motel.
"Came here for my fiancés birthday. We had jacuzzi suite 4. Such an enjoyable trip. Obviously a quiet time of year in October but it was such a clean room. Water temp and pressure for the shower and tub were great! Lady we met at the front desk was very pleasant and even gave us some suggestions about places to eat around! 10/10 would stay again! We even looked into bringing all our kiddos down sometime soon!"

The property is on the beach and well taken care of. Both young ladies at the front were professional and kind. We will definitely staycation here again. Worth the price."

View on Google"First you should know that every hotel/motel in oob is a laid back relaxed atmosphere. This motel is fantastic! The staff is so friendly I walked in with a smile and was greeted with a smile and compliments- my nails are beautiful and I don’t look like I could be anyone’s grandma!!! Amazing and very sweet - the rooms are so so clean the beds are comfortable and it’s directly on the beach!! The pool is clean and the hot tub is awesome. We’ve stayed here 3 times in the past 10 years and we’ve never been disappointed. The motel is family owned as most are - not corporate or micro managed and that makes a huge difference to us. We have traveled the world- stayed in luxury and to us it’s not about amenities it’s about people and the care that’s taken in making guests comfortable. Perhaps the bad reviews come from people that need to look within themselves. Most of them just sound like “resort Karen’s” anyway. No one in oob is there to “serve” you, everyone is there to make you comfortable on you vacation and if you’re not comfortable here that’s a YOU problem. Relax, be comfortable and enjoy the hospitality that sea cliff has to offer. It’s great and you won’t regret it!!!"
