About The Hotel

From $141/night, this 4.1-star slopeside lodge at Sugarloaf is built for skiers and mountain travelers seeking ski-in/ski-out convenience and après-ski comfort. Rooms are dated with firm beds, and hot water can be inconsistent, but the location and staff — notably friendly and welcoming — earn consistent praise. Best in winter ski season; many activities run limited hours off-season. Best for skiers and mountain travelers who want ski-in/ski-out convenience, an outdoor hot tub, and a warm front-desk team — best experienced in ski season. On the Sugarloaf access road in Carrabassett Valley, steps from the lifts and the mountain village; Route 27 leads down-valley toward Kingfield, with Augusta about 90 minutes south.

What Guests Are Saying

“Loved it : very efficient check in and parking procedure. Nice clean room, quality bad and linen. Right at the lift : great ski hill. The front desk is very good and the staff all around is very friendly. Will return.” — MontrealCharles, 5 stars

“We love it here, we hadn’t been back since Covid and we thought we’d try it again. We’ve stayed at the hotel before. The atmosphere at the hotel is very cozy and warm. When you check in they give you a delicious chocolate chip cookie. We had our breakfast in the hotel every morning before we went skiing. The staff is really friendly, efficient and the breakfast buffet was delicious. If you want to get the best of the breakfast go early. We like the rooms and my husband enjoyed the large hot tub. We ate at the Widow maker and The Bag and Kettle. I’d recommend both places. The ski conditions were excellent when we were there. Hope to return!” — sslwn234, 4 stars

“We enjoyed two nights at the Sugarloaf Hotel. We booked a standard room that came with two queen beds. Two large arm chairs with a round table and mini bar/kitchenette area was an added bonus. The only concern with our room was the hot water was very inconsistent in the shower both days. The hotel provides complimentary buffet breakfast, valet parking and ski/board lockers in a heated room. Few stairs and your at the lift to start your time on the mountain. We didn’t use the outdoor jacuzzi but it looked nice. The best feature of this hotel is their team! The ladies at the front desk, valet, wait staff at restaurant 45 North and the room service attendants were very pleasant and went out of their way to show appreciation to their guests! We truly appreciate this and the welcoming atmosphere! We hope to return! Take advantage of Boyne Rewards and visit the fresh donut shop.” — Anchored T., 4 stars

"Attended my Nieces Wedding at Sugarloaf Mountain Hotel. What an amazing scene for a wedding. Located at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain. Amazing views, great September weather, a great ceremony. The drive to get here is also amazing. It may be out of the way, but really worth the drive."

"Very friendly and polite staff. The room was spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable and clean. There is a corner for cooking and a small dining table for us to sit down and eat. We also had free breakfast in 45 North, the onsite restaurant. It was a pleasant experience. Though it is so warm and there is not much snow, we are still enjoying our stay here."
