About The Hotel

Rates on request. The Lodge at Camden Hills is a highly rated 4.7 cottage retreat on Belfast Road (Route 1) north of the village. Each unit is a private cottage with an in-room jacuzzi tub, fireplace, and well-stocked kitchenette—making it the strongest in-room tub offering in Camden. There’s an outdoor wood-fired sauna and commanding Penobscot Bay views. The location puts you a few minutes’ drive from downtown and the harbor, but directly beside hiking trails and Camden Hills State Park. It’s spacious, genuinely pet-friendly, and spotlessly maintained with a gracious on-site manager (Mary Jo). A couple of guests noted spotty Wi-Fi and strict refund policies, so confirm cancellation terms and connectivity needs before booking.

What Guests Are Saying

“The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The kitchenette has everything you need to make an eat in meal. The view of the ocean and proximity to hiking trails is outstanding. You get to feeling like you are at a private spa with the jacuzzi tub and fireplace in the room, as well as the outdoor wood fired sauna.” — Joey C., 5 stars

“My husband and I greatly enjoyed celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary at The Lodge at Camden Hills. The hot tub was fantastic! We enjoyed the double sided fireplace. The kitchenet was well stocked. The atmosphere was relaxing. We will defiantly return, and highly recommend The Lodge at Camden Hills.” — Rebecca L., 5 stars

“This was the perfect spot for my husband and my trip to Maine. The location is perfect… Camden is a beautiful town with well maintained historic buildings and lots of flowers in the summer. We stayed in Kennebec cottage which was perfect for the 2 of us for a week. It is very thoughtfully appointed with a comfortable sitting area and perfect small kitchen area. We actually cooked and found everything we needed to prepare our food. (Grocery store in town is tasty but somewhat limited. Try Hannaford’s in Rockport for more selection.) The bedroom and bathroom are comfortable with nice linens and a comfortable mattress. The wall AC and box fan were perfect to keep us comfortable. There are two cute balconies off of the main sitting area. The area seems very safe and we kept the windows open most of our stay. The manager, Mary Jo, provided us with the BEST restaurant recommendation and is on site for great responsiveness. Definitely a place we would stay again, summer or winter!” — Catherine K., 5 stars

"We stayed 2 nights while up visiting family for Thanksgiving. We didn't use the Sauna or hot tub as we didn't leave ourselves much time to relax but this was a cozy warm welcoming cottage. Bed was super comfortable, a hot walk in shower. They even provided 2 bathrobes for one size fits all people, not obese."

"My husband and I stayed in the Owls Head cottage for 2 nights and had a great time! It clearly used to be a duplex but is now a full cottage with 2 living rooms, a bedroom, a kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. It has a front porch with a great view of the water in the distance, and a back porch with a private hot tub and sauna. Communication with Mary Jo was easy via text, and when we had an issue with the toilet, she sent someone to fix it quickly. Camden is a short drive away and there is also a sidewalk along the road if you’d rather walk. Overall we had a great time and I wish we could have stayed longer!"

"We stayed here on our honeymoon 30 years ago and we loved it as much as we did then. We stayed in Penobscot cottage and it was beautifully decorated and had a gorgeous view of Penobscot Bay from the front porch. Our stay was just as wonderful as the first time we were here all those years ago"
