About The Hotel

From $287/night, The Elms of Camden is a superb 4.9-rated Colonial home with a perfect 5.0 service score. Innkeepers Gary and James have maintained the home’s original 19th-century finishes while adding comfort and luxury. Rooms are antique-filled and refined; the converted blacksmith-shop cottages are especially spacious. Breakfasts are gourmet and consistently named the best guests have had in New England. A 10-minute walk puts you at the village edge rather than right downtown, but that trade-off brings a quieter setting and a more intimate scale. The property reflects premium B&B pricing.

What Guests Are Saying

“Stunning Colonial home with nearly all the interior design and finishes original. My wife and I stayed in the former blacksmith shop, converted to 2 very large and cozy rooms, with an outside patio area to enjoy. Incredibly comfortable (one of us almost couldn’t get out of bed in time for breakfast). Speaking of which, I need to add that The Elms is where we had the best gourmet breakfast of our entire 2 weeks touring New England! Thank you Gary and James!” — Danville K., 5 stars

“We stayed 3 nights at this lovely inn and thoroughly enjoyed it. The inn itself and the rooms are charming, James & Gary are outstanding hosts and breakfast was a treat! Many thoughtful touches. It is a 10 minute walk to the center of Camden. We will certainly stay here again. Thank you James and Gary!” — 370Gardener, 5 stars

“Gary and James are wonderful innkeepers and this historic home was a perfect stay. After suffering several nights on rock hard hotel mattresses it was heaven to sink into the luxury of a high end mattress in the Dahlia Room. Kudus to Gary for a delicious breakfast as well. Loved the village of Camden and would highly recommend.” — Kip F., 5 stars

"This was a perfect New England B+B! Our room (Dahlia), was spacious and bright, and the bathroom was also nice and large with plenty of shelf space for toiletries. The house also had ample parking. Gary and James were wonderful hosts and the breakfasts were delicious! We highly recommend The Elms to anyone who's looking for a getaway in beautiful coastal Maine."

"We loved our experience so much visiting in 2024, that when we planned our vacation in 2025, we didn't hesitate to book another stay at Elms of Camden. James and Gary are the consummate hosts, always ready with outstanding recommendations for dining, entertainment, and area attractions. Their inn is in the perfect location to walk to all of the local area attractions in Camden and ideally situated to explore the mid-coast area. We've stayed in two different rooms and both were comfortable and well-appointed and the highlight of each day is a tasty breakfast with time to meet other guests and chat with the innkeepers. Highly recommended!"
