What Guests Are Saying

“We absolutely love Capt Swift Inn and visit both in the summer and every January for our anniversary. Recently, Jessica and Matt purchased the inn and have truly elevated our home away from home. They have done so many wonderful renovations, and their attention to detail is incredible, they’ve thought of everything! Jessica and Matt are exceptional innkeepers, and you can feel how much love and care they’ve poured into every aspect of the inn. We are beyond impressed and overjoyed with all they’ve done. We can’t imagine staying anywhere else for relaxation, an incredible breakfast, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere that keeps bringing us back year after year. Capt Swift will always be a very special place for us and now even more so.” — Debbie, 5 stars

“Some places become part of your story forever, and for us, The Captain Swift Inn will always be one of them. My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in Camden and got engaged while staying here, making it one of the most unforgettable weekends of our lives. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed so warmly that it truly felt like staying with family. The inn is charming, cozy, romantic, and filled with so many thoughtful details that make it feel magical without trying too hard. I wrote in the guest book that it was “the easiest yes in the most magical town,” and it really was. Thank you for helping create the kind of atmosphere where moments like that feel even more special. We’ll absolutely be back soon! — Jess W” — Jessica W., 5 stars

“Located within great close walking experience to local shops, parks, the sea, and restaurants. Booking with the hosts of the Inn proved to be exceptional with excellent follow up before and during our stay. The Inn has a great history and was impeccable upon arrival where we were greeted by the hosts who showed us around and what to expect during our stay. The Grace Bailey Suite was perfectly appointed with all the amenities listed on the website. Bed, sheets and towels were comfortable and elegant. The breakfast, cooked each morning by the hosts, was farm to table and quite good with fresh ground coffee obtained from a local store. The available wines / bubbly from local Cellar Door Wineries were quite good and reasonable. The hosts were the absolutely best in hospitality and truly made our trip most memorable! The Inn was perfect for our stay in Camden with lots to do and see in the surrounding area! A+++” — Richard G., 5 stars

"We recently stayed at the Captain Swift Inn in the Annie Kimball room. The Inn and room are both immaculate with great character. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had great pressure. Jessica and Matt were excellent hosted and prepared a wonderful breakfast of fruit, homemade mini banana nut loaf, and an excellent egg dish. We enjoyed breakfast sitting on the deck on a gorgeous morning. Great location with an easy 5 minute walk to downtown Camden"

"We had a very nice time at the Capt Swift Inn. Our room, the Eva Cullison was nice. It is a small room but it was fine for the 2 of us. It was clean, the bed, pillows and chairs were comfortable. The updated bathroom was nice and had a walk-in shower with body sprays. Breakfast was a delicious feast to start your day. 3 courses. 1 of your choice and the other 2 were a serving of a fruit dish and the third was the special of the day. We had a bowl of oatmeal, a bowl of granola w/ blueberries as our choices and the a glass of sliced apples in a caramel sauce then a spinach and egg quiche. The next day was an apple and pineapple dish then blueberry pancakes. You also get coffee, tea and/or juice. The inn was very quiet and close to town, hiking, restaurants and antique stores. Camden and the Inn were well worth a visit and we will be back. The owners Shelly and Jeff were so nice, very helpful and terrific hosts."
