About The Hotel

From $144/night, the Flagship Inn is the lowest rate in Boothbay Harbor — and you largely get what you pay for. This older motel carries a 4.1 lifetime rating, but it has slipped sharply under new ownership: recent guests report dated, sometimes unclean rooms, thin walls, noisy heaters, and inconsistent service. At this price you do get a pool, free parking, and an included breakfast within reach of the harbor. Book it only if you’re budget-conscious and willing to inspect the room on arrival — and because several guests describe surprise fees and a strict no-refund stance, reserve directly, document the room, and confirm every charge and the cancellation policy in writing before you commit.

What Guests Are Saying

“Not a great experience. I had trouble finding the driveway in the dark, as lights at the entrance were partly out. The room didn’t have a luggage rack or any place to put a suitcase other than the floor. The room heater was incredibly noisy, making it difficult to sleep with the heat on - but the bed had only a thin quilt/bedspread, no extra warm blanket or duvet. No soundproofing, the connecting door to the next room let me hear every sound (and snore) (the management refused to move me to a quieter room). Cleanliness was good but a few things were missed. I wouldn’t recommend it as a quiet or comfortable hotel.” — Lisa S., 3 stars

“Very thin walls! I could hear everyone’s conversations and snoring! The weather is getting cooler and there was only a thin comforter, no extra blankets. The most annoying thing was the internet service. Constantly go out. The breakfast was ok. The bed was comfortable. For the price I expected better.” — travelbugs0527, 2 stars

“Flagship Inn is an older motel that does need some updates. Beware…the website may say “no refunds.” However, when we were there many rooms were available so booking in advance online probably isn’t necessary. Also, there are many other motels that can accommodate.” — DRA1947, 2 stars

"Budget friendly they had a very good breakfast included in the price. There was a variety to choose from including waffles, scrambled eggs, bagels, cereal, fresh coffee, and juice. They made a very pricey tourist town affordable and very enjoyable. Our room was clean and comfortable. Located just minutes to down town Booth Bay Harbor and several areas amenities. Pet friendly! We will be staying here again."

"Very clean rooms, good beds and updated bathroom with walk in shower. Mini frig, microwave and coffee maker in room. Delicious breakfast included. Good location to area attractions while not in downtown Boothbay harbor. Pool on-site. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!"

"Rooms are beautifully update and chic. Clean and comfortable. The front desk is kind and helpful and the free breakfast is a great way to get your day started without going to a crowded restaurant. The location is nice in terms of 43 minutes from a lighthouse and a short 2 minute drive to the harbor. There is a gas station and strip mall across the street as well as an ice cream stand practically on the property. A great and affordable place to stay."
