"Easily the best hotel in Anchorage and quite possibly also the best hotel in the entire state of Alaska. The rooms are a bit dated but cozy and quaint. They are kind of a fun nod to an era that precedes my generation. It’s smack in the middle of town and right next to the Coastal Trail for your convenience during the warmer months. The gym downstairs is fully equipped and the pool and spa area are very nice. Be forewarned DO NOT sit on the couches in the spa area, and prepared for a lot of unclothed men all hanging out together on said couches. There’s something strange about it, but I can’t figure it out. All that aside it’s a pretty good fitness set up and the staff are nice. Furthermore, I love having the restaurant choices in the hotel, and I am yet to have a bad meal at any of them. I wish the Cubby opened earlier, because sometimes you need coffee before 6 AM. My favorite is Fletcher‘s which has a great clam chowder and always has a perfectly grilled fish available. Also, the hotel is very near many of the best restaurants and breweries in town. But when it’s Arctic temps in Anchorage you literally don’t have to leave the hotel, bc everything that you need is there. You could easily choose a worse place to stay in town if you want to, but this is the cream of the crop. There’s no reason to stay anywhere else."

"I loved this hotel, the rooms were so nice and clean and the reception area was so nice. The food was so good and on some days there was available shopping where people would come set up vendors for you to buy from, they had a lot of nice cool things! In the winter they have the annual gingerbread house village that the kitchen provides is it so fun to go look at I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family."

"A Stay Filled with Kindness and Grace. I recently stayed at this hotel with my dear friend of over thirty years, who is in the advanced stages of muscular dystrophy. This trip was meant to be a small but meaningful getaway — a chance for us to rest and share time together — and the staff made it truly special. From check-in to checkout, everyone was friendly and professional, but Ross, the Front Desk Manager, stood out in an extraordinary way. He arranged for fresh roses to be waiting in our room and extended a late checkout so my friend could rest comfortably before our departure. Those small gestures turned an ordinary hotel stay into something deeply memorable. I’ve stayed here several times over the years, but this visit touched me most. The compassion and quiet care shown reminded me that real hospitality is about seeing people and meeting them where they are. Heartfelt thanks to Ross and the entire team — you created a memory we will both treasure."
