The Speckled Hen Inn Bed & Breakfast

"Our stay at the Speckled Hen Inn was a delightful experience. Well located, just outside Madison. We used the Inn as a hub for exploring Madison, Monroe and the surrounding dairy and cheese-making areas. A farm-like setting with chickens, sheep, a llama and a horse grazing in the nearby pasture make for a relaxing and peaceful stay. Our hosts, Tom and Heather, were friendly, easy to talk with, and just very comfortable to be around. Fresh eggs and apples from the orchard on property make for some of the best breakfasts we have ever experienced at a bed and breakfast. Our room was well appointed with everything we needed, including a comfortable bed, an electric fireplace and a water pitcher. We were very comfortable throughout our stay. The Speckled Hen Inn is easily one of the best Bed & Breakfast facilities we have experienced. We highly recommend!"

"Our stay at The Speckled Hen Inn was incredible. Heather and Tom went out of their way to make us feel so welcome. As we happened to be the only guests at the inn during our stay, they ended up upgrading our suite. This was so kind and totally unexpected. The beds were unbelievably comfortable - we slept like babies! The food was amazing - we loved Tom's welcome cookies and all of Heather's delicious breakfasts. Even though we were the only ones there, we were still offered breakfast specials each day and each one was spectacular. We also got to spend some quality time with Tom meeting the animals on the farm and even bottle feed one of the lambs. We loved learning about all of the special jobs and purposes the animals served - definitely something we never would have learned without Tom's expertise! Overall, it was so refreshing to stay at a place where you can tell the owners really take pride in their inn. We so appreciate their attention to detail and all of the lovely conversation we had along the way. We are so thankful for such lovely memories made."

"It is a special sanctuary, so peaceful and relaxing. Highlights were the accommodations, scenery, animals, hospitality and the amazing breakfasts. The mini cherry muffins were delicious. You wouldn’t know that they were gluten free. I will never forget feeding Mini Cooper. This bed and breakfast is an experience, and as a solo traveler it was just what I needed for some quality “me time”."
