What guests are saying about Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City:
"The spa rooms are perfection, great relaxing and very comfortable room. The bed and pillows were so cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed Bambara for Brunch and the Vault for drinks. This was a stay cation to have a few nights to relax, chill, do nothing after the holidays. We will be back. We loved that this is a dog friendly hotel. We left ours at home but will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family. The check in process with Carl was the quickest and easiest check in we have ever experienced and extra cozy welcome with the Apple cider bar."

Pricing seems to have been matched to the Chase Sapphire perks which is fine if you’re using them and maybe a little pricey if not. We didn’t bring our fog but it looked to be very dog friendly. Managers, if you’re reading this, you need to ditch the valet tipping through the 3rd party software. Those valet guys are amazing employees and deserve all their tips. The app takes a service fee on every one. That’s not fair and kind of gross. They deserve better."

I booked a 2-night stay using the Chase Edit program, which is slightly more expensive than booking directly with IHG, but includes a hotel credit and complementary breakfast. The hotel credit covered the cost of valet parking, and the breakfast at Bambara was very good, with a great variety of options available from the menu. When the perks are added in, I felt like the Edit booking was worthwhile for this hotel. I was eligible for a room upgrade because of IHG status and because of the Chase Edit booking, but unfortunately, no suites were available at check in. The premium king room I stayed in was adequate for my needs. The shower includes a Speakman showerhead that is familiar to frequent travelers as it appears to be a standard at many hotel chains. The shower also has as a handheld showerhead. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were in large bottles and were of good quality, with floral scents for the hair care products, and citrus scents for the body care products. Small amenities like Q-tips and cotton balls were in the room in a small cup on the counter. Throughout my stay I felt like the service was very attentive. Both of the servers I had for breakfast were fantastic, and the valet staff was quick and made an effort to have conversation. The front desk staff was polite and efficient. It is an older building, but they’ve been renovating the space. The hotel has a modern boutique feel to it. Overall, I was very happy with my stay, and would recommend the Hotel Monaco to business travelers or couples traveling for leisure who are looking for a convenient downtown location."
