Things to do in Plymouth

Beyond the hotel room

Plymouth Blueberry Festival on Labor Day weekend is the town's signature event — one of Indiana's largest food festivals, drawing 400,000+ over four days for parades, live music, blueberry-everything food and craft vendors. It defines the September weekend for the entire region.

Centennial Park runs along the Yellow River in downtown Plymouth for walking trails, fishing and summer concerts, and the Marshall County Historical Museum (housed in the 1872 courthouse) preserves county history. The Rees Theatre downtown is a restored 1940s cinema now hosting live music, comedy and community productions year-round.

Pretty Lake just south of Plymouth is a small quiet fishing lake with a public access ramp, and the Chief Menominee Statue on Peach Road marks the starting point of the 1838 Potawatomi Trail of Death. Culver Academies on Lake Maxinkuckee 20 minutes south is a boarding school with a stunning lakeside campus.

More within easy reach — Notre Dame campus 30 minutes north for football Saturdays and the Basilica; South Bend 30 minutes north for the Studebaker Museum; and Syracuse 40 minutes east for Brook Pointe Resort's spa-bathtub Romantic Getaway Package. Spring runs quiet pre-Blueberry farmland, summer brings Marshall County Fair (July) and Pretty Lake boating, fall peaks at the Blueberry Festival Labor Day weekend and pulls Notre Dame football hotel demand, and winter drops to off-season US-30 corridor rates. Seasonal highlights include Plymouth Blueberry Festival (Labor Day weekend), Marshall County Fair (July), and Notre Dame football season (September–November, 30 min north).

For couples

Why a Plymouth hot tub suite works for romance

For couples, Plymouth is a boutique-B&B romantic destination — Biddle Point's select suites offer an in-room whirlpool tub and fireplace on a 9-acre estate with Adirondack chairs and a fire pit outside. A 5-star reviewer captured it well: 'Surprised to find a whirlpool tub and fireplace in our room.' It is smaller and more homey than the state's other marquee romantic properties (French Lick Springs, Syracuse Brook Pointe, Colfax Cabins & Candlelight) and works especially well for a quiet get-away weekend. Book the whirlpool-and-fireplace select suite specifically to guarantee the in-room tub, note the unusual self-check-in (find your card in the foyer), and plan on driving to town for dinner as the estate is rural. Massage service is on the amenity list.

Many of the Plymouth properties below offer extras on request — champagne service, rose-petal turn-down, or late check-out. Mention your occasion at booking; most front desks try to help.

Biddle Point Inn

4.9·182 Google reviews

"The grounds are lovely. Breakfast is Continental, although pre-ordered options are available. Rooms are lovely, although we did have a few problems, including a faulty thermostat and a "jet" tub that no longer functioned. Considering there were only us and one other couple staying at the time, it would have been nice to have a fully functional room."

— Diane Brow, 5 months ago · 4/5

"This is a lovely lovely inn just 30 minutes from Notre Dame. Clean and beautifully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable. Will definitely be back."

Getting here

How to reach Plymouth

Plymouth sits at US-30 and US-31 in Marshall County, about 30 minutes south of South Bend and two hours north of Indianapolis. South Bend International Airport (SBN) is the closest at about 30 minutes north via US-31; Indianapolis International (IND) is about two hours south. US-31 is the main north-south corridor linking Plymouth to South Bend and Indianapolis, and US-30 is the main east-west route through Marshall County. Biddle Point sits at 7290 Michigan Rd in a rural 9-acre estate setting north of Plymouth — a short drive to downtown restaurants and the Blueberry Festival grounds. A car is essential; there is no local transit, and rideshare is very thin outside festival weekends. Notre Dame is 30 minutes north on US-31 for football Saturdays and the Basilica; Syracuse's Brook Pointe Resort is 40 minutes east. US-31 runs north-south linking Plymouth to South Bend and Indianapolis. Once you have arrived, plan to keep a car for day trips around the region; most attractions are an easy drive, and parking at the hotel is straightforward.

Tub types, explained

What's the difference between a jacuzzi, whirlpool, and soaking tub?

Jacuzzi

Technically a brand name, but used generically for any jetted tub. In hotel listings, "jacuzzi suite" almost always means a private in-room tub with built-in air or water jets. Heat is usually preset; jets are user-controlled.

Whirlpool

Functionally identical to a jacuzzi — water jets circulate heated water for a massage effect. The term is more common at Marriott, Hilton, and Wyndham brands. Most "whirlpool suites" hold two adults comfortably.

Soaking tub

Deeper than a standard bathtub, usually 18–22 inches, but with no jets. Common in boutique and luxury hotels — quieter, more spa-like, and better for a long hot soak than the jet-driven hum of a jacuzzi.

Hot tub

In strict use, a standalone heated tub holding 100°F+ water. In hotel marketing, often used interchangeably with jacuzzi or whirlpool. A genuine in-room "hot tub" with full thermostat control is rare outside cabin-style resorts.

Every listing on this page specifies which type you'll find in the room. We list only properties with the tub in your room — not in a shared pool area or the lobby spa.

Why trust us

Hand-verified. No AI filler.

Every hotel on this page has been personally verified to have a private, in-room hot tub or jacuzzi — not a shared pool tub, not a bathroom soaker, not a spa amenity you have to book. We cross-check three sources for every listing: the hotel's own room photos and descriptions, recent guest reviews on TripAdvisor and Google, and direct confirmation from the hotel where unclear. We don't take payment for placement, and we don't generate listings with AI. If a hotel's tub status changes or a property closes, the page updates the next time we re-verify the city (Dothan was last checked May 2026).
