Irish Cottage Inn & Suites

"Easiest 5 star review ever! We LOVE this hotel. We have stayed here for two years in a row. It is located mere minutes from downtown Galena. We are visiting Dubuque and didn't mind the drive. The rooms are nice, clean, and we love that you can open the window to let in fresh air!!!! They also included a microwave and mini fridge, perfect for storing any leftovers. Also, breakfast was included which was such a lifesaver, especially if you are gluten free and something simple like eggs, potatoes, toast and oatmeal would easily cost over $20 a person at a restaurant (we brought our own gluten free bread and just used their toaster at the buffet). The staff is warm and friendly and if we had any concerns they were addressed promptly. They also include afternoon tea as a bonus if you are around in the afternoons. As people who have been to Ireland, we love staying here. The environment reminds us of our visit there. The food at the restaurant was excellent as well. Highly recommend!!! :)"

"Nice, clean hotel just down the street from the Ulysses S. Grant home and close to main street Galena. Buffet breakfast was hot and fresh and served at the Irish pub connected to the hotel. The best perk was the complimentary shuttle. Brian the shuttle driver was very helpful and gave us a brief historic tour of Galena and recommended restaurants and shops."

"Great local location to stay when visiting Galena. Close to all the shops and eateries. Plus, they have a fantastic restaurant inside the hotel. Building and amenities are clean. Parking available in back when staying on first floor suite units."
