"We had a really good stay at the Ocean Tower Hilton Grand Vacations on the Big Island. We booked a 1-bedroom suite that was recently renovated, so everything felt fresh, clean, and comfortable. The semi ocean view was a nice bonus, and the room was very well maintained throughout our stay. One thing that really made our trip easier was the valet parking. The price difference between self-parking and valet wasn’t much, and since the self-parking area is a bit of a walk from the tower, valet ended up being totally worth it. They were quick, friendly, and if we called ahead, they had the car waiting right at the main lobby-super convenient and a big time-saver. Overall, we had a great experience and really enjoyed our stay. We’d definitely choose the Ocean Tower again on our next Big Island trip."

View on Google"As an experienced Hilton traveler, I really wanted to love this place, but I found myself disappointed. The service is as you would expect, first rate, Hilton style. The property is wonderfully located. But some of the rooms are dated and don't give off the Hilton vibe. Old fixtures in the bathroom, lackluster room design, beds that need to be replaced, upgraded or upsized. These were a few of our observations on our most recent trip to this facility. It also suffers from what are some built-in problems, namely the extraordinarily slow train (Travel tip: You can walk to your destination faster than the train, though the enormity of the proprty may dissuade you from doing so) and the randomness and paucity of elevators. These are not problems that can be easily fixed, as they are simply built into the design of this decades-old structure. Signage was also a problem. For most of our time here, we had no idea where we were, or what was available. (The map is unintelligible and should be re-thought.) Still, it is a Hilton. We had a good time despite these shortcomings.i"

The biggest drawback for us was the amount of walking. The Ocean Tower is VERY far from the main entrance, so any time we needed transportation, we had a long walk ahead of us. The tram was an option, but it moved extremely slowly and we often had to wait a long time for it. They also advertise boats to help move guests around the property, but those were not operating during our stay. That said, the resort itself is absolutely stunning. We saw tons of sea life in the saltwater lagoon, and we booked a cabana for the day which made swimming and relaxing so easy and peaceful. We ate twice at the Lagoon Restaurant — the food was decent, nothing extraordinary, but convenient and fairly priced, especially since it saved us from having to Uber off the property. There are better local restaurants in the area, but convenience won for us. The views and landscaping were truly breathtaking. We loved the hammocks by the Buddha on the beach — one of our favorite spots to unwind. Overall, this resort is perfect for families or anyone who wants tons of things to do without leaving the property. We personally ventured out for excursions around the Big Island and definitely recommend others do the same — the nature and scenery of the island are too beautiful to miss."
