About The Hotel

Phoenix West is a 4.3-rated condo resort on Perdido Beach Boulevard managed by Brett/Robinson, with 740 reviews across twin Gulf-front towers. Every unit includes a full kitchen, and the property boasts an indoor pool and hot tubs, a zero-entry outdoor pool, a lazy river, a corkscrew waterslide, lighted tennis courts, and direct boardwalk access to the Gulf. Guests rate cleanliness at 4.4, rooms at 4.7, and location at 4.7. A secure parking garage and fitness center are available. The property suits families seeking extended stays with resort amenities. However, individually owned units vary in furnishings and upkeep, and the resort becomes crowded during peak summer season. Recent reviews cite elevator wait times exceeding 30 minutes and variable unit maintenance.

What Guests Are Saying

“Great trip with family. A/C wouldn’t cool down lower than 74. Security man at slide was very ugly with my grandkids about wearing floaters down slide. Made them cry. Very upsetting to grandkids and to our family. Ran out of guest parking when my nephew and his daughter came to visit one day. They had to park down the road and I had to go pick them up.” — bobby P., 4 stars

“The room I found is nice and big with a lot of amenities but it could have been cleaner. The dining chairs really should have. Some kind of vinyl or leather and not fabric. There were stains and ground in dried on food on the chairs 🤢 The sheets and extra blankets were like sand paper which don’t feel that great on sunburned skin (sunburn was my fault 🫠) These things are not deal breakers. What is the deal breaker is they only have 4 elevators for the entire building. Some people waited 30 minutes just for an elevator! And no you can’t take the stairs when you have a wagon with beach stuff and a family in tow from the 15th floor. It’s absolutely ridiculous how you have to pack so many people into an elevator and ride it up just to get down to the first floor!! My family and I will NEVER stay here again!!!” — Nancy B., 2 stars

“This is our 8th time staying at Phoenix West, we love the lazy river and the complex is close to all of the restaurants, it’s an awesome place to stay!! But beware of unit 507, it is definitely owned by a investment group and not individual owners, owners take pride in their condos. I do want to say the beds were comfortable but beware of the kitchen cabinets the balcony furniture and the carpet in the master bedroom. When we arrived we thought the kitchen cabinets looked off but then I realized they are falling away from the wall. Also the balcony couch and chair cushions need to be replaced they were stained and worn out, and the master bedroom carpet is worn. We will spend our hard earned money on another condo at Phoenix West” — Rhonda, 2 stars

"This place was fantastic. I have zero complaints about the room, pools, beach, staff, or parking. The only part I found irritating was when we checked in it was chaos finding a cart and taking the elevator up. It took half an hour to get an elevator with enough room to go up. I’d suggest not checking in at the 4:30 check in time and instead getting dinner first and checking in afterwards as it was much calmer at 6:30 or 7. We had a 4 bedroom unit on the 21st floor that had breathtaking ocean views. The unit was beautiful and had all the space we needed for 11 people and it was a corner unit so it had a wrap around balcony with views of the ocean as well as the road going down orange beach towards Perdido Bay. The pools were fun, my only complaints are that there isn’t an outdoor hot tub and the zero entry pool (the one with the Phoenix logo) is much smaller than it seems in pictures, with only maybe 10 feet of zero entry area. The beach is great, when you leave the walkway go right and you’ll find more space and less people. We saw a bunch of people catching fish in the mornings and late afternoon so it seems to be a great place for surf fishing. We had very rainy and windy weather for the first two days but our third and last full day was beautiful. Great sunsets every day."

"Nice place to stay. Very family friendly. Lazy river is so nice!!! Only thing negative is paying for parking at the condo and it's not disclosed you will have to do so! You should make this more clear when booking. Other then that had a great time and experience here!!"
